Tupac was active for only 5-6 years and had #1 hits on the Hot 100 and multiple classic movies, if he continued on that trajectory it wouldn’t even be comparable

Snoop Dogg was just as huge as 2Pac yet didn't last anywhere as long as Jay-Z. You don't know that to be true.

Yes? He is a billionaire, married to Beyonce, has been relevant for over 20 years, and literally has the most longevity in Hip-Hop (the biggest genre in the world currently) for any artist currently alive.

Every artist who died early was 'growing still'. We'll never know for sure how they would've did truly down the long run, but also 2Pac was getting into too much law issues and those rappers don't last in the long run.

Em, Drake, Jay, Kanye, etc lasted over a decade because they weren't going to jail at the height of their careers.

The point was it'd be similar to any true legend's death in music (MJ, Prince, Whitney, etc). It would impact EVERYONE and it'd be talked about for the rest of the year.

Again 2Pac didn't start getting most of this recognition or legacy until after he died. It's unfair to compare nor pretend 2Pac was anywhere near what Jay-Z was before he died.

MJ is one of the rare artists bigger worldwide than in the US. When he went on tour, there are places he performed that most of us in the US don't even know exist. He was that massive. People in Africa or South America who can't even afford to buy one of his CDs had a picture of him in their bedroom or could sing all the lyrics to a few of his songs.

Wasn't there a video of him and Bey at some museum and someone asked him who he was? Just 2 years ago, when he was on a so-called "sold out" stadium tour at the time?

Jay is a huge star but let's not overdo it. And it's stupid of you to slight Tupac for being bigger after his death, when it happens to every single star. I'd even blame MJ and Whitney's deaths for their streaming numbers being so high. Even a smaller artist like Aaliyah made most of her impact after she died as well.

Okay, so we agree Jay-Z being bigger before death and then becoming bigger if he died today makes him above 2Pac.

And I never said Jay-Z was as successful as Michael Jackson, so idk why you're bringing up how he was huge everywhere.

I said if Jay-Z died it'd be a humongous event in the media, and the only stars comparable would be A-list legends who also died early. It'd obviously be WAY bigger than a 2Pac, Juice, Pop Smoke, XXX, etc death.
