I mean he was fw with his music enough to get him to work on the album, so it stands to say he obviously would have influenced other songs
Abel even said himself once that his sound was Drake's sound but darker. He was influenced by Drake so Drake really influencing himself.

What you smoking? House of Balloons for sure has elements of that dark moody atmospheric R&B/Hip-Hop sound So Far Gone popularized. Some songs meant for House of Balloons was on Take Care so it's just easier to see that but So Far Gone for sure influenced House of Balloons. So Far Gone influenced a lot of Toronto's sound. A lot of the artists started sounding like it.

but most Weeknd stans still like Drake or just have no strong opinion on him either way

No, it wasn't. The person who actually deserves the most credit for Take Care is 40, who PRODUCED most of the album, not The Weeknd who co-wrote one song and he gave a couple of hooks to Drake to use on other songs.
40 himself said it that people wrongfully give The Weeknd too much credit for Take Care and he was right.

I think the statement "Take Care wouldn't be the album it is without the weeknd" riles up so much unnecessary hurt inside people

It's not saying Abel wrote the whoel albumit's just the truth - If one of the biggest collaborators from an album was removed, it wouldn't be the same album

You said the original Crew Love demo was trash which im assuming you meant the XO / Crew Love one
And I said there was another demo that was already finished and sounds identical to how it does on TC
