    How?

God, I feel like I would have to write an essay to fully articulate my thoughts on why.

I actually know what you talking bout and while I don't necessarily agree, I'm not mad at this perspective.

  • I love how it was kinda written how Nathan was this negative energy since his introduction into the series and then finally ends with him realizing it was Issa all along holding him back.

He was confirmed a real nigga.

sorry if anybody saw that before the edits I f***ed up.

I watched the first episode of the Anna kendrick season and it was mad corny. S2 seems more interesting though

    S2 is fire

Then you can probably put it in way better words than I can. There are times throughout the series where I'm telling myself "nah TV show, I don't think this moment is not as earned as you're trying to frame it"

With that said though, season three is still the best the show has ever looked, in terms of how it's shot compared to the seasons before it, and even after in some cases. It got really stylistic.

Molly and Issa's relationship is the best written one in the series, which is obviously the point, but still worth noting.

Not the biggest fan of how jokes are written in this show, and I'm not talking about the surrealist-esque sight gags. Those are hilarious. I'm talking about the one-liners that every character delivers the exact same way, down to the gesture and tone, regardless of if delivering that line in that manner isn't consistent with that character's personality and demeanor. On top of it falling flat, at least to me personally.

I'm trying to find a still image that perfectly illustrates what I mean, but when you notice it, it becomes distracting how much everyone tells a joke the exact same way Issa does.

Admittingly though, that's just a really meaningless gripe. I liked the subverting-ness of the season one finale, and similar moments like it sprinkled throughout the early seasons. Which I guess also could tie into why I feel the way I do about Issa's character...?

I could go on for hours.

I think she was just confused and didn't really know what she wanted in life. Some people are like that. That's why she was always so inconsistent

Simply this, and that doesn’t make them not a good person

that's kinda her signature type of joking style. If you watched Awkward Black Girl it's kinda similiar there too. I can see how that can be off putting to some tho.

Idk, that restaurant scene/issa and lawrence walking through on season 4 was the most beautiful I think the show looked tbh.

Crissle from The Read said the true love story of this entire series is Molly and Issa. Which makes a lot of sense after this episode.

But @ColtWilliamsMusic said it best, Issa just did not know for a long time what she really wanted. Which, is ok. It's NOT ok to involve other people in your life when you're in that zone (but, we all do it. That's what makes this show real)

Cause if Issa on the tv show was making smart decisions and communicated with everyone, well we wouldn't have a show. So in a way she has to....not be a good person in order to show her growing up.

But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't facepalming or cringing from some decisions that she/Lawrence/Molly made throughout the series. But then again, I facepalm and cringe at decisions that my homies make throughout life.

But I get what you mean.

    What is wrong with people?

Those people get no p**** and despise women because of it so they say s*** like this to rationalize why they’re better than women

For 4 seasons this show made me feel good
But final episode left this feeling of bleakness of life in me

Idk why but it hit some VERY TOUGH notes
Like when Molly and Issa started crying idk man relationships of any form are scary and hard

This probably wasn't the intent but why the f*** does this finale feel like Issa actually giving up instead of Issa winning?

Am I the only one that feels like she went "I want to fast forward to a time when everything is okay" and then the time just stops saying "Issa... this ain't going to get better just give up and be okay with how it is"

    This was a sad ending

  • Dec 27, 2021

Also I'm not a fan of this "fast forward" s*** they did in last couple episodes

I really d rather they left us with a bit of story unsaid than just skim through yeeeears of their life to show us the ending

Instead of giving us Issa and Lawrance on a plate it should have ended with them finally going on a date again and boom the end the rest is for the audience to figure out

Meanwhile here it felt like we were STRUGGLING for every MINUTE of Issa's life for 4 seasons and then final two episodes are months of her life with just short updates every now and then

    It was meh

  • Dec 28, 2021

nah these were outrageous time skips. Didn't this season start out on a year time skip?

then we go through the season with jumps in weeks/months, then the finale skips through everyones birthday (probably close to another year right?) just for there to be ANOTHER year skip?

like s*** man is it 2025 when this ends
