Have come around on this? Couldn't believe your take last week

I don’t dislike it, I like the film, and most of Nolan’s work. It just was never “great” to me.
I need to rewatch this
I liked a lot of the stuff in space, but whenever it cut back to that farm, it felt like something goofy was happening
Great film with some really powerful moments tho
Agreed. Beautiful powerful movie
Look at that…
Me and you agreeing. This must be a classic then.

Greatness always brings us together
has anyone ever noticed the music in this film is actually like really good?
I think youre the first person to ever notice!
Happy birthday? Or it was a while ago
Birthday already passed, but thank you
Undeniably good
First movie that made me really look at Nolan as more than just a studio blockbuster director
put this on for the first time in a while
didnt like it at all when it came out. only recently started turning around on it.
but my god there's some lazy, expository writing in this.

I just rewatched this today and although I liked it when I first watched it, I liked it less the second time.
So. Much. Exposition. And it just dragged on and on during the second act.
Nolan truly does not know about "show, don't tell". But maybe it's expected to spoon-feed viewers when you're aiming for the general audience. Like would Nolan's films still popular if he didn't?
I don't understand the complaint about Nolan's exposition cause you wouldn't have a f***in clue what's going on without it. 2001 his films are not.

yea, he walks such a tight wire.
his s*** is highly intelligent but I'm sure he feels a certain obligation to dumb things down/spoon feed. it's done well sometimes, mostly perfectly in inception. because we're learning WITH Ariadne.
But with Interstellar... we coulda just rocked out, I'm sure. And exposition just sounds worst coming out of Mccougheoagehaay.
"Youre a pilot and a farmer--"
"--AND and engineer." nigga stfu

Looking as his filmography, he probably peaked with balancing exposition with The Dark Knight and Inception.
lmaooo, I had a similar reaction to that line.
That and the part where they mention the Lazarus missions and Michael Caine's character without hesitation explains "Lazurus came back from the dead".
Then later when they wake up Matt Damon's character he says, “You literally brought me back from the dead” and Cooper replies with an awe in his voice, “Lazarus".
Only thing that would have made that scene worse was if he would have looked right at the camera and smirked.

exposition should be a last resort. but even then, he's so blatant with it.
