I won't even lie, f*** Android and Apple.
We really need a new player in the game.
Apple reminds me too much of North Korea
Android is like f***ing Ethiopia.
I forgot I been on one about my Android...
S***ty Wifi signal, s***ty cell signal, s***ty GPS, random screen glitching that forces me to restart the phone...
You'd think I'd be talking about those throwaway prepay phones, but naw I'm talking about a OnePlus 7 Pro, the alleged 'flagship' killer.
I get so mad I consider getting an iPhone... Then I remember those got their s***ty woes as well.
It has begun to occur to me that both phone manufacturers are forcing people to comply to what they believe is the standard... Android used to be very moddable and you could install mods and cool s*** that added functionality to your phone. Could even do s*** like possibly fix all the issues I'm having currently... But now Android is being like Apple and trying to lock the software down and make it one dimensional...
So now we got these struggle iPhone clones. They have none of the cool things that Android is known for, and all of the bad things that Apple is known for...
Makes me sick. 10 years ago, phone technology was headed in a great direction and seemed to being growing insanely fast, now it seems like it's entirely profit driven rather than looking for advancements.
They likely abstain features from a flagship model so they can put it as a selling point on next year's one. I'll bet that if they weren't profit driven, phones would have some insane technology rn.
how are you gonna no s*** me after saying that
Cause it seems like youre defending them by saying its no big deal. My original question was rhetorical

i dont really care i dont have a mac
im rtarded for missing that i just always read your posts as aggressive
Android does all these things seamlessly or by default and that's the whole point OP is making.
No local storage is a straight up travesty, I can't believe anyone would defend it...
'You wouldn't keep documents on your phone, what if you lose it?'
Anything at any moment can be lost, not sure what your point is.
Guess this whole thread comes down to how you use your phone
I don’t download files that much to my iPhone, and if I do they’re online
but I do use it for emails/calls/texts/media consumption, which is what most people use their phones for these days

One plus 7 Pro
One Plus literally the Android equivalent to Apple, that whole flagship killer stuff was bs to get their brand off the ground, they really poured water over all of our eyes

They're more like bad Samsung clones, but you're right. Lured people in, now they've dropped the 'budget flagship' schtick smh.
I expected way more from the people that brought me CyanogenMod
I’m currently in the same boat as OP. Using my siblings iPhone 12 since they’ve upgraded. The whole home ui is terrible
To change icons takes so much effort with shortcuts etc and that’s just a horrible implementation to get round to customising and there’s barely any decent widgets. The App Library section is a cluttered mess. They should at least let you choose the categories you want to have. The default apps thing is only valid for a few apps only. For example I want to use Apollo for any Reddit links that I google up but instead you either have to use the actual Reddit app which is trash or open it on the web browser which is limited. I know you can share the link then open but that’s just a stupid extra step. In android you set whatever app you wanna use and then from then on it will always use that app to open. So many years and they only starting to implement things that were on Android like 10 years ago. One thing I will give them is the camera system is great. Im going to give this a couple weeks before I make my mind up. Going on holiday next week so perfect time to use as a daily driver
Main reason im gonna switch back to android. Awesome file management + ability to download anything from the internet like a PC. I like keeping my media/files organized but really can't on my iphone
Pixel 6 coming soon
Only issue with iOS and especially iPadOS.
I can understand iOS to an extent but iPadOS was made to give more PC-like control to the iPad. All these pro apps Apple is using but won’t let you get a proper file management app. You can lock OS files and everything just let me manage my storage properly and make it more seamless to move stuff from iPad to an external device.
Facebook mad at Apple for limiting their ability to gather our info. I’ll stick with Apple just for that

iPhone 13 Mini out now
iPhone 13 out now
iPhone 13 Pro out now
iPhone 13 Pro Max out now
Further update post holiday: I still hold the same views above. I really tried to be open to it and the crazy thing is I’m a former iPhone user lol but it’s just too limited in terms of the ui/layout/design. Apple are known for design but their icons are horrible and doesn’t even go together. The same green phone and message icons from years ago a grey camera icon next to it its just not pleasing. Android UI layout is not that great either out the box but they let you set up how u like without the clutter. The locked file system is horrible. Having files set up in individual apps instead of accessing it from anywhere is long. People always say Apple runs the apps better and I didn’t have issues with it but I’ve never had issues with a flagship android either. I feel like that was a thing years ago but people still hold on to it. I’ve compared photo shots with an s21 on holiday and the iPhone struggled at times getting the shadows and skin tones wrong. Both are great cameras tho but Videography is on another level on the iPhone. Everything looks so crisp and the stabilisation is next level. It can’t be touched. The YouTube app is terrible and I can’t believe the Picture in Picture mode is a premium feature. YouTube vanced is a million times better than YouTube itself with auto skip sponsors (life changing) and volume/brightness gestures so I guess that spoilt me. The battery lasted a day which is great but flagships all do nowadays. Overall thinking about it the only thing I liked was the camera but android cameras are not even bad. I’d rather have a A-/B+ camera with unrestricted control than an A+ camera and a s***ty ui

Xiaomi is way better
if we are talking about budget Chinese flagships
not even close
CyanogenMod wasn't even made by OnePlus they just used the OS for a while... Xiaomi actually started Mi UI and did software first. OnePlus are just s***ty Oppo phones rebranded for markets in the West.
I would put the Oppo (OnePlus / Realme other names the company uses) brands near the bottom of the best selling brands, they're better than Walmart prepaid trash but Xiaomi / Samsung on another level
just lost a whole written song. from notes app. 2 days worth of notes because of a naive decision to click the notes icon on my mac...
no warning of data loss. nothing. I'm switching to android and will vehemently bad mouth iphone/iOS any chance that I can get now.
text. a f***ing txt. can't even f***ing handle something that simple without a paywall.
It's getting to the point where I want to personally insult members of their dev team.
do not f***ing try to be productive with the notes app. it's absolutely dog s***.
and all the motherfuckers who're gonna come at me about saving...that's what I did...
and for some reason I lost 2 days of notes...in notes with the app open with absolutely no warning. this file sandbox bullshit is OS breaking for me.

And creating attitudes like this is how you get people to pay $1500 for a laptop that can do a bunch of s***, only to scroll ig and watch Netflix
