okay looks like I need to explain Sharia law to you

If you are a Muslim who does not agree with Sharia law because he does not want to mix 7th century culture with religion, then you are a Muslim I approve of. But I wouldn't talk s*** about sharia to the Imam if I were you next Friday at the mosque tho he might feel a certain way about it. So thread lightly

This is what Sharia Law is and by definition one cannot separate it from 7th century Arab culture and tradition.

Decades after the prophet (PBUH) died, once Arabs took over vast lands and most of the looting and wars were over they had to start governing people. The Ulemma aka The Jurisconsults at first said okay we got the Quran this is the book of Allah the all knowing book of knowledge, it has all we need!! but soon they realised that the whole justice law in the Quran can be put in two pages (e.g. if someone take your eye take his eye, if someone kills someone behead him etc.) and is far too inadequate for civil societies that they had taken over. Therefore they started to manipulate the religious teaching so that a sophisticated society can be governed by them & that's where the Hadiths (Sayings on the prophet's traditions) came into play. Hadiths mixed with the couple of pages of law derived from the Quran formed sharia.

So tell me, How can you separate 7th century Arab culture from the prophet's traditions??

You can't and that's why an Islamic democratic government has never existed, Because Sharia law is flawed and outdated! Only way to fix it is a reform. But there wont be because it is Holy! Can't touch none of it. In Shi'ism not only Muhammad himself but 12 generations after him and their supposed sayings are considered holy too. It's all a mess.

My dear friend, Quran is respectable and holy because holiness is in the mind!! But if you are trying to say it is holy because it has been handed down from the skies and should be the end all be all then I do not accept that and neither does a modern human being.

It's facts bro. We as muslims for 1400 years plus, have not stepped one foot beyond the boundaries of Jurisprudence and limitations of Sharia Law. No change, No development, No eminence, No reforms as Islam is the only religion which says these are God's words descended from heavens. Others don't say such things.Torah was written 750 year after Moses or Bible was collated by apostles. Quran is the only one descended from heavens with 'Holy' immunity to any modification ! this has caused misfortune, unhappiness and misery of muslims globally.
Just look at most of muslims' lives worldwide. You see the consequences of an ideology in its social outcomes.

Let me tell you when Muslims started falling behind, Before then sure, we were all on the same dumb dumb level.

It was like 14th century. Around then Christians realised what a Modern human being is. A modern human is one which after enduring centuries and millennia under dominance of religion and being in darkness, and being lost, and forsaking the intellect and underrating human's understanding finally woke up and cut the hand of supernatural from people's private life. And started to develop a worldly view. Perhaps if we muslims had the renaissance back then then Bunsen and Volta would be born in Baghdad and Kabul and our dumb asses wouldn't just give away the oil and get tricked into submission by them f***ing brits

The Renaissance really ? Countriesa in Europe were still colonizing and fighting wars. America had the worst Slave Trade in history. Racial tensions in the west were still at an up most high. Muslims contributed A LOT during the Renaissance that you have no idea about.

The Renaissance did not cause people to become better. You still had racism, slavery, and colonization going on.

I do not think you know what the Sharia Law is in Islam.
It is the same concept as the Napoleon Laws, and the same concept as the Constitution.
There are 5 goals that Sharia aims to preserve, and it is based on justice and compassion.
You are saying Islamophobic tropes. Just because you steal doesn't mean you deserve your hand be cut off. There are more restrictions than just that. Just because you kill someone doesn't mean you are killed. There are more restrictions than that. Sharia Law preserved ALL religions not just Islam.
You would be completely surprised that REAL Sharia Law is really similar to American law.
Muslims all over the middle east and more Muslims in the west do not have an idea of what Sharia ACTAULLY is, and you do not either. You believe Sharia is what Iran says it is, or what Lebanon say it is. But it is not.
If Sharia Law was truly applied women would not be forced to wear a hijab in Iran. Protestors would not get killed.
We do not know how an Islamic Democratic government would look like because we haven't had a chance to make it happen ! Not because of Sharia Law as no middle eastern country has implemented Sharia Law.

You are under the impression that the Islamic Golden Age of sceiences came about because of Islam. You truly need to read history. Yes there was an Era in like tenth century when a good progressive khalifa ordered tranlation of Greek literature to Arabic also the vast majority of the so called 'Arab' scientists came from or lived in the greater Khorasan region under the Samanids and Daelamids protection in Khorassan since they were less strict religiously and all of these happened centuries after the prophet died.

You need to actually read some history.
