I mean yeah but that doesn't get away from the fact his music in today's context is often pretty boring, bland and derivative regardless even if its marketed as being revolutionary and earth shattering, his political/social beliefs stay out of the songs I like too

when he releases another album I'll listen numerous times, and if it has a song on Jail, Pure Souls, Ghost Town etc. level then I'll listen to those ones often but like all of his albums at this point most of the songs won't be anywhere near my rotation

I wouldn't rule out listening to his music again in the semi near future but I have literally zero interest in doing so atm cos his current behaviour disgusts me

I dont listen to kanye rn not bc of his antisemitism and anti blackness, but bc bruh is so lame and washed. Everything post grad just reminds me of him being really a lame in real life, cant seperate that from the art

Na his 10-13 music was his maximum confidence level music imo

  • Wack300

    That’s Kardashian Era Kanye

sounds like youre the one who cant separate his art with all the other stuff that was going on in his life at the time

    Weird post

Ye never included his antics in his released music, so yes, you can separate it and you can still listen to him.

R Kelly on the other side literally talked about the s*** he has done in his music. Imagine listening to him

that's my secret cap' I always separate art from artist

He has confidence but he also starts to become who he’d ultimately become (morally and artistically bankrupt by fame and money) so I see the point that poster made. MBDTF is kind of the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end. By Yeezus the lame fully jumps out, can’t imagine listening to the obnoxious crossaint stuff today tbh

It’s more of a spectrum than it suddenly becoming lame

The first real signs of lame is in Yeezus

    Then some more in TLOP

Then after that the artistry falls off an absolute cliff ofc

This is a tough pill to swallow but it’s ultimately true unfortunately.

This site was never the demographic that listens to R Kelly lmao

real people dont give a s*** about this kind of stuff. whatever comes from this, these pics are what people will remember in the long run

  • Nov 2, 2022

Ive reached the point where I’ve played the pre Yeezus albums so much that they’re getting old to me and I wish he had more music like that. Lol I be bumping freshman adjustment to get that same feel

    This

Every now and then he’ll do a gem like come to life or jail etc but most of his new raps are way too entrenched in the Yeezus - Now post Kardashian Ye character he’s created

  • Nov 2, 2022

I won't. One goes with the other. That's mostly why we all ended up on a Kanye oriented forum once upon a time and are still discussing his actions as well as the music and the products and the family
