What percentage of people do you think get the Flu shot every single year? Because y'all keep bringing up the Flu Shot not realizing that the number that gets the shot every single year or even often is much lower than you think
The flu isnt a perfect comparison bc its been around so f***in long especially compared to covid
Hopefully decades down the line the comparison will be more accurate

During the 2019-2020 flu season, 51.8% of people ages six months and older got a flu vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
52% for a flu shot is pretty close to the 57% the US is at right now for a fully vaccinated Americans.

That was higher than I would of thought too tbh

2020 really showed me some people immune systems just ain't hitting for s***. Hope people drink water, eat right cause there is no reason people should need a flu shot every single year or even really be getting seriously sick every single year
don't reproduce op
If we don't have a cure for the flu, we probably won't have a cure for this in our lifetime. Take the vaccine and make sure it only sucks when you get Corona instead of dying on a ventilator.
I am sorry but if you getting the flushot every year your body is soft
wouldn't it be the opposite since they build up their immune system every year?

Y'all don't have to continue to roast the man. Like of course OP wrong but the continuous condescending and putting people like OP down for asking is a question is what turns people to conspiracy theory bullshit. OP central question is will there ever be a time where we won't need booster shots for the COVID vaccine every 6 months to be effective or considered fully vaccinated
Because recently Fauci said if people didn't get the booster shots they were comparable to unvaccinated after a certain amount of time. FDA just said no booster shots unless over 65 or at risk population. The amount of fully unvaccinated remains stable but there is a mix of natural immunity throughout. Israel and other countries with a study of the vaccinated they are catching it (but staying out of hospital for most part) and variants
Some are getting adverse heart conditions to vaccine which is part of why the FDA ruled against rushing to booster shots until further research while okaying Pfizer for kids. So although OP asking if there is a "cure" or end all to a developing disease seems silly there are better ways to deliver information to him than just calling him a dumbass over and over again and telling him to get the vaccine because this may shock you but people dont often listen to people who call them a dumbass
covid will never be cured
i swear a few weeks ago in the covid thread it was a story about antibodies that basically get rid of covid

OP real question is will we have to get a shot every 6 months for the rest of our lives to be considered protected? Is there any reversing the damage COVID has done to some peoples lungs, taste, smell and clotting?
Like of course yes Vaccines help the spread and expression of the virus but is there anyway to reverse or "cure" its damage that its caused. Clearly there is no end all be all. But will there be an update in effectiveness of vaccines? Same way a flu shot in 2000 likely isn't the same as a flushot in 2021(hopefully) but honestly I dont get the flushot like that so don't know how iterative the process is
