No, it's a legitimate disorder recognized on the DSM-5 criteria. Just because someone's an 'introvert' or is socially awkward doesn't even come close to the other parts of aspergers.

Sensory issues, language delays, bad or below normal coordination, inability to maintain eye contact, not understanding social cues, etc.

Can't really compare that to your typical 'shut-in'.

Naw it’s much more than simply overthinking or having anxiety. Strong interests, sensory issues, weird speech, lack of facial expressions, trouble with socialization, etc. are all normally part of Asperger’s.

Also Asperger’s is usually paired with ADD/ADHD
