and to share my opinion before the cacs on here try to attack me

as a black man what happened to George Floyd and many others every day disheartens my spirit. I do believe the majority of the protesters are out there to raise awareness to systemic problem in policing. I however do believe that our vulnerability can be exploited by malicious agents, and that outwardly calling for the support of white people can directly led to manipulation.

If you were around and followed what happened after Ferguson, then you know that segments of the movement were compromised. Real people from the movement started dying suspiciously and the media started pushing Mr. Blue Vest (DeRay) as one of the movements leaders when dude is an establisment sellout that now promotes tweets for money.

thats what my cousin was telling me. this s*** puts dudes in a tough spot. yeah i dont f*** with how policing has been done on blacks in this country since the beginning of its inception. but i also dont f*** with being emotionally manipulated to become a political tool for one wing of the party. its like they are trynna get us to choose a side right now, and it has nothing to do in the long run with the plight of the black man

    Who to believe

It could be compromised, but I think it's one of those things that can be used as a positive tool too.

It reminds me of religious extremists where they claim to do bad things in the name of a religious group or ideology, but the REAL people that represent that group condemn the actions of those that merely use the name for fame.

Either way, I think the bigger picture is to bring about permanent change. You shouldn't need an ideology to tell you what is right and what is wrong.

I mean...dude in the video is going conspiratorial talking about the powers to be wanting a legit civil war to pop off. I highly doubt that. But it's no question politicians use race to get elected. And the rich will put tons of their money behind organizations that call for incremental reform, but no radical change in the system as a whole that perpetuates the cycle.

People don't like to do their research. That being said, it isn't fishy every time a social justice movement is so out there, nothing really changes? The moment money is involved, it stops being genuine.

So what do you do? Not make a movement or move as a group in fear of being compromised everytime?

Don't take money from sketchy donors or take any sponsorships, your movement is already compromised.

Riots won't solve the problem either, actually, they're playing right into their hand, even though it's the whites are inciting the riots.

Even though Black Lives Matter is legitimate organization, I would compare it more to a movement.

Not many people know the leaders of BLM and it is more of a chant/rallying call than an organization.

Black lives matter, but I don’t support the movement “BLM”. They don’t care about ALL black lives. How can black lives matter for the movement, when they don’t even matter to each other? Justice for George Floyd & David Dorn ✊🏽

That's part of the problem, the og leaders are gone.

    Divide and conquer, classic trick

  • my opinion has always been if large corporations/conglomerates are supporting the movement (even if it's just by doing meaningless hashtags on social media), chances are the movement has either been compromised or has been hijacked. Corporations aren't going to support anything which actually creates change in the status quo unless said change is likely to make them more money; likewise they aren't going to be supporting anything subversive or transgressive unless there's pre-existing seeds which ensure they won't lose business for doing such, which would defeat the purpose of them being subversive or transgressive. This isn't to say the entire movement is like, you know, meaningless or anything, but the same way Pride was (legitimately) stolen and then flanderized by business, it's not too far off that the same thing could happen here. It happened in the 60s too with movements then.

It’s obvious that BLM has turned political. The left have been gathering these types of groups for years and using them for gain in elections.
