You sound like a white man who doesn’t understand why Black folk say nigga

    This makes zero sense lol

Your comparing a word that was used to dehumanize black people

To a trendy word used for a woman that acts like an a******

  • Sep 7, 2023

there’s a different layer of vitriol when a man calls me a b**** vs when a woman does.

and i don’t care about “most the b****es i know are men!”

In general it's worth avoiding saying any of them but to also not soy out if you do trip up. Just keep it in mind and try to self-correct. It's the same thing with r**arded. The word is actually still used in music composition and medical terminology not related to anything mental but with the efficacy of certain medicines or physiological phenomena and is genuinely the best word you can use to describe some of these bodily processes and reactions. But if you're not using that in that context, but also didn't call someone who is intellectually challenged in some way that word, no need to beat yourself up, but to just note that you f***ed up and need to work on it.

Yeah, I mean, I work with developmentally disadvantaged youth so I should just avoid the r one, but yea I don't trip out over anyone using it

Depends how you say it and who you say it too.

Cuz black people turned it into something trendy after years of oppression.

And B**** is not even the worst word to call a woman

Ah, so b**** isn’t so much a slur bc we have even worse words for women. Very interesting line of thinking. Not sure it holds up!

Porchmonkey must not be a slur either

The fact you just pulled that word out is suspect

Especially since your basically compared slavery to a woman being called a b****

I’m black, maybe you should actually respond to ppl points rather than attempt cheap shots based on nothing

I compared slavery to nothing but you don’t seem to have much of a grasp on the history of gender and power if you think the experience of women is incomparable to other forms of oppression

Also, plenty of black women were called b**** as they were enslaved and raped. Being able to recognize oppression across difference is a valuable thing

So you should know the effect of the word “bitch” and “nigga” are not the same lol

Nobody irl really cares about the word b**** being thrown around like they do nigga and the f word.

Edit - Black women got called the hard er also so what’s your point?

I said what I said in my OG comment because the woman in OP was coming at men for saying the word b**** meanwhile women say it probably more frequently then men have.

Nowhere have I stated two words have to be “the same” for them to be considered a slur. Language doesn’t work that way. You want to defend a gendered word bc women say it. That was your reasoning and that’s what I responded to. You don’t seem v equipped to hold a discourse and actually respond to what someone is saying. You also seem like a Black man, if I may presume, who is attached to arguing that race and racism are more fundamental to oppression than gender and misogyny. Some Black women would agree, some wouldn’t.

This post is so condescending lol

You came at me in your first reply by calling me a white man and comparing “bitch” to the “nigga”

And I replied saying it’s not the same

Then you replied using a slur to make a “point” knowing that both that word and “bitch” do not have the same effect or historical significance towards others.

And you mentioned black women when the tweet only spoke about women in general, which is what I was referring to in that post.
