Both are over hyped visual directors that can't write dialogue or characters with depth, but their fans are too deluded to realize it
Agree or nah?
"Is average the new average?"
Yo big mad but why
rented blade runner 2049 in 4k dr and almost fell asleep
they're nothing alike as directors ... so no.
Love both though
they both can't write dialogue and their fanbases are pretentious a******s
nolan got better as his career progressed
denis has not

You compared that to a Chris Nolan film?

I actually disagree.
their dialogue has never been the problem for me. Most of the time it's their characters they write. Nolan more than Denis.
their more technical and cold directors. they prefer plot and story over characters and dialogue.
Tarantino is the total opposite
You compared that to a Chris Nolan film?
i almost fell asleep to inception tbh...unless until the final act

WOW
YOUR TASTE IS ASS
Sike nah if that’s how you feel 🤷🏽♂️
nolan got better as his career progressed
denis has not
Hating on the canadian goat <<<
This is such a basic surface level comparison
Their styles are very different
The only dennis esque nolan film is maybe interstellar and memento but even then not really
Also dennis is a much stronger with his “drama” pen, he’s more akin to like the coen brothers on that front than chris
Esgy thread
Idk I feel like they mostly different I do agree about their fan base tho but imo Denis definitely can write some good characters I loved the sicario ones for example
Denis doesnt write most of his movies and allows himself to adapt more, and the quality of the movie is usually determined by the script.
Nolan on the other hand puts way more creative input into the writing, and he himself is determining the quality of the movie overall. IMO it’s a bumpy road with the story with him
Emotionally I’d say Denis handles things a lot more competently especially from his actors. I would say some performances can feel wooden, but hey he could improve with characterization
Nolan I’d say does a few cliches with his actors, but does push a lot more attitude and energy into his characters, but emotionally with the writing the stakes become way too big.
That’s just my ranty feelings on this
