Definitely. I appreciate that it helped me curate my charm and obviously have a lot of good times with women but eventually I learned that type of life isn’t for me. Not trying to make excuses for Drake but like another user said it’s different for me being a regular dude versus being an A list celebrity with unlimited money and women I can see why that s*** would be hard to give up with those philosophies in mind

It is vulnerable as hell. Those lines about his crazy 2024 were a lot more transparent than I thought he’d be about it. Unfortunately like with every Drake project it won’t be recognized for how good it is until 2-3 years

I’m a Kendrick fan too but I don’t always need a quintuple entendre to be like damn this is good writing or this touched me. Hearing any rapper much less Drake admit that the events of last year got to him is good to me. Idk too many rappers admitting that on a song after a beef of that level. People complain about his writing being surface level okay?

Drake does an incredible job of validating emotions imo. Most of the time he doesn't even come to a conclusion or advice on how to fix it. The energy he brings to the song is, "This situation sucks and this is how I feel about it."

someone being vulnerable doesnt have to be expressed in double or triple entendres all the time. marvins room is easily digestible as far as lyrics go but the vulnerability of that song is why people gravitated to it

The criticism of him parading his dad around to show everyone he’s black or whatever definitely has something to do with their relationship

Nobody actually knows the real nature of the relationship but Drake making a song about bringing his dad into his life (even tho he’s a pos) to feel more of a connection with black culture would be more honest and vulnerable then anything he’s done in a decade

Not saying any of that is true but songs like that are what I’m talking about when I say this is deep and vulnerable
