Ain't top 10 for me
I feel he had one particularly strong style but unlike a number of other great producers, failed to have it translate as hip hop grew and he also failed to stay relevant after the 90s beyond some throwbacks here or there (such as the added scratches on Everything I Am)
Hasn’t made a classic beat since 2007.
He’s not too 5 anymore.
He's in there
Mannie Fresh IMO has the greatest claim to be the GOAT producer based off of discography quantity, timelessness of work and lack of help
You gotta talk about Daz, Chad, danja, Scott storch, Yella, Mike Dean, the hitmen, etc. if you mention the typical names that come to mind when you start saying “GOAT producer”
Mannie did all that cash money s*** with just him and maybe a band
I’m not too knowledgeable on who all did three 6 beats like that but they up there too

what exactly makes u consider yella a GOAT, i love him but he literally changed directions and producing p***s instead

I’m not saying Yella is a GOAT producer I’m saying if you mention Dre in this convo you gotta consider Yella, Storch, Daz made a lot of the beats you would think of when going back thru Dre catalog so I say Mannie bc he pretty much solo and his s*** hold up from 30 years ago

what he's already put out speaks for itself.
everyone dies, retires or breaks up eventually. it's just who put out the best music when they were on their run
