Considering we have seen racist Fox News hosts shame Kendrick to big up Drake for being a good little boy and not criticizing white people and Drake did nothing to stand up for the genre speaks volumes to the lack of integrity he has for the genre. Its funny that the only real time he brought up BLM and black issues was when it became clear that staying silent on those issues would be detrimental to one's career at that point.

He has been pretty "silent" about those issues his entire career and he's more than fine. Try again.
In conclusion lol, this summarizes that his core fanbase are white americans, even non-american white people can get behind civil issues and talk about real-life issues.
He simply does not want to give up his white-suburban fanbase that are questioning their own racist behavior. If Drake gives off a hint of blackness this album then poof they’re gone, hence why you have him proposing this soft lover boy image. Couple years back when it was IYRTITL season he def had all the darkskin niggas shooting at the camera lens with their hands and hood niggas in look alive. Guess its time to ditch that so his fanbase dont get it twisted
Spot on tbh. It’s not even just Drake stans but c***music fans in general. I remember ktt was getting mad because niggas wanted to see everyone speaking up during the GF riots. It’s like what’s the issue with speaking up more? You mean these niggas making millions off us and they can’t even speak on the topics that effect us?
Because it is. How hard is it for people to understand that some people simply won't make songs about the black struggle or social justice issues? Drake is not that artist. The same can be said about dozens of other black mainstream rappers but y'all don't have any of this energy for them. Y'all save it for the person y'all remember is biracial, Jewish and Canadian whenever y'all feel like it.
Nothing will change if Drake raps about social issues the same way nothing has changed as he doesn't rap about it. Deal with it and move on. Criticizing him at this point of his career is foolish.
How is it trauma p***? This is such a f***ing stupid colored hair twitter core phrase.
Y’all just use it as a way to dismiss a type of rap music that drake doesn’t make.
Best believe if he had an all falls down or a alright type song that people repeatedly have found comfort/empowerment from during social movements y’all would be gassing it up. But since he doesn’t y’all wanna pretend like it doesn’t matter and it’s all “trauma p***”.
Y'all need to ask yourselves why you look to celebrities to speak out to make y'all feel better. That's what needs to be addressed here.
I still remember how many of you were angry at Kendrick and J. Cole because they hadn't "spoken out" about George Floyd's murder despite those people been outspoken about social justice issues in their music.
Y'all are just SHEEP, hopelessly waiting for famous people to lead you and that's the honest truth.
He has been pretty "silent" about those issues his entire career and he's more than fine. Try again.
No he was never fine. Alot of you want to overshadow the fact that this boils down simply to insecurity. If Drake is going to let being called a biracial jew from canada stop him from talking about issues that are apart of the culture he fetishsizes so much, then why is he a goat? How can you be black and be insecure about talking about black issues?

Wait, that really happened? If true, knowing Drake he probably laughed at it instead of taking offense and being mad for Kendrick.

Y’all label that trauma p*** just to go bump Lil Baby and other rappers talking about their struggle and how it’s hard in the streets for them and their people and how they have folks that died to violence etc. that’s “struggle p***” as well. Y’all some bozos.
How is it trauma p***? This is such a f***ing stupid colored hair twitter core phrase.

Kanye has those songs and is still an ignorant fool. Those songs don't mean s***. They're literally JUST songs.
I've never needed or even wanted Drake to make songs about those issues because that isn't what I want from his music. There are way more musicians and folks in the black community who are better informed who I can look to for comments about stuff like that.
How many times have y'all demanded a celebrity to speak out only for them to do so and because they don't say what y'all want them to say, y'all call them ignorant and cancel them?
Drake is 11 years into his career and y'all are still expecting negro spirituals from him, meanwhile y'all jump at every chance to mock him using the fact that he's biracial, Canadian and Jewish and y'all undermine his blackness at every turn. You can't have both.
He isn't the social justice warrior y'all want him to be and he won't ever be that and y'all see just gonna have to deal with it
He doesn’t do it because United States culture drives his fan base and he probably doesn’t personally identify with most of the s*** going on out here because they politics is different. In order to avoid gaffs and just generally being criticized for saying stupid s***/speaking on s*** he don’t know nothing bout he treats his political views just like his beef: adresses it in subliminals.
I'm sure he can identify with racial injustice, police brutality, and discrimination from the perspective of a black Jew from Canada. That stuff does happen in Canada, and I'm sure he can find way to incorporate those experiences in Canada with his experiences in the US.
All in all he isn't required to be sociopolitical, it's just always been odd to me because like I said, the man has a massive platform. I doubt he'd take any serious loss if he were to just speak up more, if anything it'd only make him look better. The man is 33 still rapping/singing about high school level romances when we know he is capable of something more mature and harder hitting.
It's not a requirement to incorporate politics in your music. Though as a hip-hop artist at the top of their game...and the game in general. I feel like they should be eager to do so as hip-hop was a genre/culture created to act as a counter-culture and rebel against the powers that be, that's a topic for another thread.
everybody know Drake is immune to criticism
since all the basic chicks like his music dudes have to shut up and not say s***, lol
That's how I'm feeling dealing with his stans itt
I ain't even say anything bad for him not doing it, and I've even said that he doesn't have to do it and they're still in their feelings.
No he was never fine. Alot of you want to overshadow the fact that this boils down simply to insecurity. He's more than fine. His career is fine. The few times he has spoken about, he's been met with criticism from the same black community he tried to speak out on behalf of and people always use him being Jewish, biracial and Canadian against him so he doesn't speak out.
Kendrick and J. Cole speak out, let them be your GOATs if that's the case. Drake will be fine, I promise you. Don't worry

Its true! Look at all the articles talkinabout “blackfishing” and white people pretending to be black online. Not just even for trump supporters. Look at all the little white boys on here with black avi’s writing threads s***ting on kanye and kendrick and praising drake.
Majority of americans (myself included) think the opposite and enjoy drake when he releases and if he has a good lasting song.
Most of you couldnt stand the fact that rap and black artists in general arent allowed, now you can talk about drake in the house cause hes not really black and your mom is singing “wap” making your breakfast cause Cardi isnt black.
Alot of you really gotta stop pushing these racist narratatives on here, you know drake looks stupid for ignoring these topics, funny thing is, drake ignoring these topics is what you want so you can look cool in front of white people 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Kanye has those songs and is still an ignorant fool. Those songs don't mean s***. They're literally JUST songs.

Show me where I said Drake has to speak out on s***?
Like you said Drake ain’t even from that type of environment to speak on that type of s***.
And you need to stop calling people sheep cause when George Floyd happened and drake put his lil poem on twitter you were one of the main users s***ting on Kendrick, Cole and Kanye for not making a statement. So f*** outta here
Drake doesn’t make that type of music that’s cool. It is what it is. But don’t trash other artists who wanna use their music/platform to say something. That’s my only issue with Drake stans when this topic comes up
Y'all are REALLY this mad Drake won't rap about social issues to make y'all feel better about being fans of his music? Couldn't be me
Wipe Drake's c***from your eyes and learn how to read. If that's what you got from any of this your stanning has reached a point of serious mental illness and a lack of reading comprehension and I highly recommend you get that checked out before continuing further in this discussion.
Drake will never switch it up tbh and we just need to accept it at this point. He had the chance to drop his best album with scorpion but it was more of the same bullshit. He ran out of s*** to talk about but as long as he has white america under his wing he will forever get a pass because only a small minority call him out for it. Clb I’m expecting to be the same as before.
A dababy stan talking about switching it up
Lol you cant make this s*** up
Show me where I said Drake has to speak out on s***?

Man, shut up. This thread isn't even about that yet you found a way to make it about Drake stans. Weirdo clown. That's all you know how to do.
Like I said, Kendrick and Cole can make that music and after a while it becomes trauma p*** because guess what? Not everyone wants to listen to music like that and it's okay. Y'all wanted TPAB part 2 from Kendrick and he pivoted and made a DAMN. near Pop rap album because even he knows how exhausting it can be rapping about that s*** all the time. It takes a toll.
Kudos to everyone speaking on social issues and racial injustice and kudos to those who aren't.
To answer the title: maybe?
Does it matter? No
Would he get s*** on if he tried?
Being Canadian, (kinda) Jewish, light skin, no one really trying to hear present discourse from him
Considering we have seen racist Fox News hosts shame Kendrick to big up Drake for being a good little boy and not criticizing white people and Drake did nothing to stand up for the genre speaks volumes to the lack of integrity he has for the genre. Truly the Taylor Swift of hip hop
Even Taylor Swift has gotten more political than Drake man
Like I'm really not mad that he doesn't make songs about it. Maybe he really does feel like he has no place speaking about it being that he's from Canada. Maybe he feels he doesn't have the range to speak about it. But like...you can't get outdid by America's favorite white girl. That's just sad.
He has been pretty "silent" about those issues his entire career and he's more than fine. Try again.
You clearly are pretty delusional as to how the tolerance for staying silent on liberal issues has changed over the years. After Trump's win, it started to become a big deal for celebrities to not stay silent on that with their fanbases and the media. Don't forget celebrities Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift got into a big amount of trouble for staying silent on these issues. Drake was just protecting the bag when he finally spoke on it.
A dababy stan talking about switching it up
Lol you cant make this s*** up
Baby switched his flow a few times. You’re a casual fan that mainly listen to Drake and artists associated with Drake so I wouldn’t expect for you to actually listen to his music.

You’re making this some type of speak out competition lol
That’s weird

Just cause some people don’t wanna hear it doesn’t make it trauma p***.
Trauma p*** just another pseudo woke buzzword and you stans adopted it to defend drake. It is what it is
