have you ever read the tale about that man that succesfully could listen to a death grip song and a chief keef song... IN A ROW?
some say a man with a taste in music more abstract has still not been identified
I do think as a hip hop listener u should try to educate yourself in all forms of music but no knock on u if u don't
its all nostalgia
i mean, sure. But god damn they unlistenable to me and i grew up when they were peaking

They had like two songs I enjoyed when I was growing up, neither of which I'm checking for now lol
I don't get some people's love for them.
My favorite Rock albums are from the classic Rock era.
Never was a Paramore fan like many rap fans and rappers claim to be. I don't know how Paramore crossed over to the Rap world but I've seen rap fans in my hood gassing them up and listening to a few of their songs.
Demon Dayz and Hybrid Theory are still the most loved rock albums in hip hop tbh
they both have strong rap connections especially hybrid theory
my favorite "rock" albums legit have nothing to do with hip hop: Dirt and Rid of Me

I agree
Hip hop introduced me to a lot of classic electronic and soul music
It's cringe to pretend to like more than one genre just to impress forum nerds on how diverse ur taste is
This actually.
Yea, one should be diverse with their music selection, but there's so much music around you can afford to like one thing.
just recently started to get into Afrobeat aka Fela Kuti, which is something I could see appealing to rap heads

super hypnotic
super hypnotic
excellent record.
I wouldn't say cringe. Theres nothing wrong with having your own tastes and fave genre
But when I see people who only seem to rate white artists and seem to be the type of people who would look down on rap then I do feel a type of way
Specifically music elitist who.love indie music but then the only pop stars they like are white annoy me a lot. Seeing people with these album if the year lists full of indie s*** but then pop stars like Taylor swift but they don't seem able to give hip hop a fair chance. I don't really care but it annoys me
Cringe? This is most people OP. It’s cringe to be pretentious about others music tastes.

Or the people go like overintellectualize artists of color
pitchfork is really really bad with this
Think it's more cringe if you're on a hip-hop website, and you either (1) barely listen to hip-hop or (2) mainly listen to it but say most of your favorite albums aren't hip-hop.
