Many women view men in relationships where there are massive age gaps as deliberately preying on females simply because of how young they are when in reality , even though that does take place far more often than it should , there are also probably way more males out there than people would care to admit who simply just do not have as much of a choice in choosing partners than you would think .

Like from what the father in this example is saying , my impression is that he is completely out of his depth in terms of his ability to compete in the dating environment men and women find themselves in nowadays after having been married for a significant length of time , and he might prefer to pursue a relationship with a women closer to his age if that were possible , but women in their 40s and 50s are much more established in life than younger girls and will for the most part have much more restrictive expectations and non-negotiables for potential partners , which all contribute to making dating that much more difficult for men of a certain age

I can’t control the direction people choose to take this thread towards , but to me this discussion is just as much about the average man’s dating prospects as it is anything else . Seeing a guy tell his daughter that she won’t let him be happy got to me because if it wasn’t about him being 51 and her 19 ( definitely undisputedly problematic but not abhorrent and insurmountable ) , you get the feeling she would have objected to the length of time he waited after his divorce , or the way the girl immediately came over to the apartment he moved into after his wife and daughter were given sole access to the family home he alone spent 2 decades making mortgage payments on ( because dad why did you ignore all the women on your tinder who wanted you to take them on actual dates and start banging the first girl that said yes to your offer of Netflix and chill ? ) , etc. etc. …

I can imagine all the negative things people might say about my posts itt so far but as a man with absolutely zero value in the dating market it is very difficult to see the things both men and women have to say about guys who are able to go on dates and pursue relationships only to get this insane level of scrutiny in response to nearly every aspect of their actions and general existence as a whole
