From all genres there are alot of groundbreaking projects that were released that are unlike anything that existed previously and it seems like music is going back to being innovative as it was during the 70s and 80s. There's has been alot experimentation going on that makes me excited how this decade will turn out. Let's be honest the 2010s were complete trash and the 2000s really downgraded everything in music compared to how cutting edge the 90s were.

Arca been that girl but....... wow
Tbh Mike is the future, I genuinely can't pin point which producer is just like him ever. Plus in the 2020 ideally I want the slums to win because their consistency is major.
We can't talk about recent pop innovation without talking about charli and this achievement of an album that took 5 weeks to make during quarantine wow. Also in pop music rn pop artists are really coming out with amazing projects, rina, jessie ware also dua.
Insanity at best
Yall slept on this artpop opus that mixes so many styles that are unheard of.
Let's also talk about the innovative black artists who are expanding music to unexplored waters/frontiers. Klein has been that girl and yall still sleep. Idk an artist who is able to evoke this r&b nightmare vibe that she has ever. I also hope she wins this decade. Here album frozen is crushing
