Exactly. Mainstream rap been trash the underground is were it's at
Eh I'd say "post rap" music is a lot more interesting than underground rap. Trap drums and sounds have evolved far past some dude just spitting bars
Examples are kinda underwhelming, I don’t find Charli special unless I’m holding her to the insanely low bar that the past 20 years of pop artists have set for her
Renaissance is coming tho
yall trying so hard to be different thats you guys will listen to actual trash

mfs be like "i have a superior music taste" and then listen to 100 gecs
I hate 100 gecs. I got really quick examples because someone requested them. I used different examples to what is out right now and actually doing something different in their respective genres. Wasn't trying to be edgy.
noway these dudes really enjoying the trash i just heard
You may not like it's ok but. These artists are coming up with new shot that is unlike anything released before
MIKE produces his own s***?
Yes as dj blackpower also works with other producers
all of this is just a continuation of the 2010s tho, no?
Late 2010s hinted at it but I feel the styles will be recognized on a bigger scale. I can see mainstream artists trying some of this s*** later on
yall trying so hard to be different thats you guys will listen to actual trash
Not trying to be different. I thoroughly enjoy the examples i provided. If you don't that's ok, I just wanted to start a conversation. If you feel like you have better taste or better examples, then put us on.

Elaborate on post rap and please provide examples

They came up after convenience culture and instant gratification became the norm

It's honestly weird. I'm also young and all of these new waves are doing the most. I can't keep up but honestly there's hasn't been much keeping me interested.
I think a lot of cultures, movements & lifestyle changes becoming widespread will result in interesting art
LGBQT , Anti-police , socialism / anarchy / anti-capitalism , international communication, otaku culture , meme culture , dating websites, underground music , streetwear being more prevalent / easily accessible will make for very interesting music and aesthetics
these styles in op have been evolving and progressing at a normal rate
But previously there weren't as apparent as they are now though.

Yeah I'm waiting for another massive wave to come in the 2020s like how vaporwave, alt r&b and chillwave came in during the 10s, I know there will be one

I'm talking about drain gang, 100 gecs, GBC , artists that have built off rap sonically or structurally but have made their own sub genres or applied their rap influenced to other genres. Not comfortable calling any of them rap but they were heavily influenced by rap music, particularly on the last 10 years
