i decided just now that when my lease is up im moving to the top floor.

it shouldn't f***ing be normal tbh. builders need to step their construction game up and apply the thickest layers of advanced concrete slabs or just make soundproof buildings altogether.

this is why I always chose to live on the top floor if the bldg is built weak. ive actually had neighbors below me knock at my door and complain that I walk too loud or aggressive

the whole time I thought I was walking quietly and gently. I told the 1 neighbor to walk in my apartment while I stand in hers to hear what she's hearing...she walked gently and s*** was HELLA LOUD AND CRINGE

I confronted the dude today
not cause of the footsteps but because there is a leak in the bathroom that started last week for five minutes but went away.
i had maintenance look at it and they said it was probably due to water damage/flooding? from above and to keep an eye on it.
It happened again today I went upstairs to ask them if they are having issues with water on the floor or flooding the bathroom.
They said that they have not and that they have heard me yelling from downstairs and that I should talk it over instead of yelling.
They also apologized for all the noise.
Not gonna lie I was kinda humbled but now that I'm pretty sure it's not coming from them I will have to have maintenance look at the leak and possibly tear up the ceiling to find the source.
It's going to suck but whatever.

UPDATE:
I put in a maintenance order for the leaks in my ceiling.
Remember how I spoke to the neighbors two days ago and they said that they have not been flooding/getting water on the floor. Well maintenance went up there today to investigate and they said in the bathroom the bathtub was filled to the top and overflowing water.
Now they are up there (in the neighbor's bathroom) putting caulk on the area around the shower so when they try to recreate The Poseidon Adventure in the future it doesn't drip through to my ceiling.
