Would you let your white friend say "what's good my nigga" to you because you think it isn't harmful?

Where would the line be crossed if you allow them one foot in the door?

    Song lyrics? Casual conversation?

Just wanted to clarify I’m not talking about a white dude I met a year ago or something, these are my white friends who stuck by my side and gave me guidance for 15 years. If they ever used it w/ a hard R I’d smack tf out them. They’re not going around saying the nigga, like if I tell them a story about how I smashed a girl and they said “my nigga” it’s not a problem to ME.

Like I am white and it is not that hard just not to say it. Same way I never call girls b****es for some reason. I have never used it so it doesnt even roll of my tongue. I call them hoes tho. Feels much better to me I dunno why.

If they were your close friends you shouldn't let them say any version of it because you're setting them up to not only get checked by another black person, but then possibly using your friendship as leeway to use it.

    Where are you from?

I get what you’re saying and I agree to a point. They know if they say it to a random ass dude they’ll get jumped. These guys aren’t saying nigga every sentence or every day or even every month (to me atleast) it’s like a once in a while thing like when I told them about my success a while ago one said congrats, I love you my nigga. I grew up in the hood WITH them, nigga was said every second, it was so “normal” to say it. After a while with all the movements and stuff they asked me if I felt cool with them saying it. My whole life that word was used to express many things that aren’t offensive or harmful, so I told them don’t change.

Maybe the way I’m thinking about it is f***ed up, but they think of themselves as niggas.

    They aren't "niggas" lmao.

You have to understand that they cannot say a word many find offensive just because of an environment and friendship.

There is no pass for it that is universal.

What works on block A won't work on block B, C and so on because personal and situational reasons don't supersede others' feelings.

Like, imagine a group of people telling you something shouldn't be said because they take offense to it and your friend goes "well I grew up in the hood, so I'ma keep saying it because of my circumstances".

It's f***ed up and wrong at the end of the day.

Let's not even get into how weird it is to attribute use of a word to being from the "hood".

    Listen bro.

They can think of themselves what they want. You can too. You're still a nigga. That's it. House niggas were still NIGGAS. Didn't matter where and with who they spent their time.

Being poor, broke and hungry and living in your hood aint a license to call you the N-Word. No matter what you've told them.

    That being said.
If y'all already have an understanding keep moving how you move. Sure you could always change your mind and let them know but at the end of the day what y'all do is your business. Not ours.

I think if they're really your friends then it won't matter if you did go to them with a change of heart.
