With the no press, no videos, nothing general, behavior in regards to CLB - it's made me think he decided to hold the songs he loved so that he could tour on those later.

In essence, is it possible he's coming out with the album he's actually going to tour with?
Was CLB something he knew that he was going to just get out at the time and he knew that there was going to be no tour for that album? If you think about it, that album does not really scream: TOUR.

That album is nothing like what he had talked about in every context prior to dropping it. So why did it change into a feature fest with music that was nothing like the leaks?

I find it hard to believe that they (Oliver, Future, Drake) are satisfied right now, artistically not monetarily. He's a competitive ass person and very self-aware, if he feels like the music isn't hitting or he's slipping - he won't just sit there and watch an 11 year reign start to decline.

in my eyes, clb and dldt were great musically, the time he popped out at Future's set at Wireless really drove home the amount of great music that he's not been able to perform. I just think he doesn't want to be on the road right now. if he wanted to he'd be going ham. imagine Time Flies or NFITI at a show, people like you are sleeping on The Boy

He’s less than a year off of his 2nd tear in the same knee. When CLB dropped it was even sooner.

How long was Klay Thompson out with his first tear? And he’s a top class athlete.

Combined with the pandemic and especially Canada’s restrictions, Drake probably just felt to sit this one out. He’s been throwing a lot of time into his business ventures which I’m sure is making up the touring money.

And don’t forget about those captions and the studio pics. He’s working on new music, they’ve subtlety teased a surprise drop.

I think he’ll drop again soon and tour off of both of those. Similar to Weeknd, without the whole announcing it and canceling it on his fans thing

He's probably making more money these days than he's ever made in his life (including when he was always touring). He seems to miss performing but he CLEARLY doesn't want to go on a full blown tour.

What if this is his “retirement” that he mentioned on western road flows? I doubt he’ll ever fully stop doing music if he’s capable, but what if he was referencing taking a step back from the music industry, likes he’s been doin recently?

I would love Drake to go on a 1-2 year break without dropping anything & Then he drops one of the best albums ever that is so good that it gets compared with Take Care by critics & fans .yea you heard that right

@Htownwolf is a Drake stan but completely overlooked this fact. Scorpion was Drake’s most promoted album and that came out after More Life.

It wasn’t an ACL tear this time and it’s been more than a year, he’s definitely fully recovered and has been playing ball

I haven’t seen any confirmation on what he tore but tearing anything in a knee and having to get surgery on a knee that you previously tore 3 ligaments in is going to take a long time to heal. He’s been more active between the drop of CLB and now so I’d figure he’s out of rehab and getting stronger. But that doesn’t mean he was ready back in September and I just feel that he may feel the time has passed and is working on new music.

I’m in no position to say whether he’s fully healthy or not, just speculating, but his tours are intense on his body and require way more energy than playing pick up games with your friends. Added that it’s his legacy so all of his effort needs to be in it.

He’s high energy, running back and forth at times on stage, every night. Jumping, etc. The tour with Migos lasted four months and every night is strenuous especially with the injuries

Yall really got to stop with these threads. CLB was a classic but that doesn't mean we need a break. Drake has dropped them back to back before and there's no reason he can't do it again

  • Mar 30, 2022

There’s 0 reason to promo that album, especially not an interview. There would be nothing to talk about.

If you go back to that era you’ll see people mad about the promo in that era too
People were b****ing about lack of press run and late night tv appearances and stuff

No, CLB was the album there was no other album.

I personally feel like drake didn’t promote it because he sat with the music so long that he was over it.

I do think there is some accuracy to people saying Drake isn’t that fond of the album, or at the very least he knows he can do much better. I also think Drake hates promo and now he has the luxury of not having to do it anymore since he’s the biggest artist.

He isn't fooling us on purpose. CLB was just an album that was rushed because he felt like he was in mad competition with Kanye & he thought fans wanted him to release at the same time like that.

I've already bet with a few people that we're getting another project by the end of this year. It's almost too obvious

Rushed??? He never worked on an album that long.

Now you’re just reaching. All of us were happy that Drake was finally releasing music videos alongside with new singles that era. Nobody was “mad”.
