This site would s*** all over him if he even tried. The sad fact is people don’t actually like experimentation/ things out side of a general norm. A lot of people want you in your lane so they can continue to put you in a box.

This sites lazy ass discourse on MMBS proves it imo. He purposely made the opposite album than what most people wanted (a piano based therapy album) and y’all call that s*** boring every other week.

Unrelated but hell even WLR was s*** on when it dropped for being the opposite of what people wanted at the time

Kendrick music is niche compared to Kanye music.

How much I’ve listened to Kendrick in the past ten years on a scale of 1 to 100 compared to other artists it’s around 17/100

How much I’ve listened to Kanye is the past ten years compared to other artists it’s 100/100 (he’s the one I’ve listened to the most)

I listened to Mr Morale only a few times through. At first I thought it was Kendricks best album but now I think it’s good but that’s it. I have not listened to it again for months. I listened to Donda sometime within the last month.

Kendrick doesn’t have any album that hold a candle to any of Kanyes (JiK, ye, TLOP, Yeezus, Donda just to name a few)

The only album Kendrick made that is in the same league is TPAB but to be frank TPAB has great music but the lyrics haven’t aged well and were never really that great to begin with. The music and production carries the album. Kanye’s albums have great production and lyrics.

Kendrick already made his “experimental/creative” album and it was TPAB. No one attacked him for it but the fact of the matter is that no one spins TPAB anymore. It just didn’t survive the test of time like Yeezus and 808s and Radiohead’s Kid A. I listen to all of those albums still today and they’re great but I haven’t listened to TPAB since 2016 or 2017. Lots of people spin TLOP and Yeezus still to this day and to be honest I’d argue Travis Scotts rodeo is better than anything Kendrick has ever made.

In fact Mr.Morale is sort of another “experimental” album from Kendrick. It’s just got more pop tracks than yeezus for example because almost every artist wants to make genre crossing pop music. The general population likes Mr. Morale but like I said Kendrick is niche compared to Kanye so when I say general public I mean out of the people who’ve heard some of it, most people like it but that’s it. It’s not like the greatest album ever. It’s certainly no Donda, Donda has so many tracks that you can take the songs you like the most and put those into a playlist and create however long of an album you want and as long as you pick certain pivotal songs, the albums theme still works. Mr Morale is more concise (i.e. you pretty much want/need every song for the album to work properly). Both of these directions are good but in the current era I think Kanye’s album with tons of songs and a “pick which songs you like in a playlist” style is a much more creative as well as more appropriate for this era.

Kendrick is not as mainstream as Travis or Kanye and his lyrical content is predictable.
