We constantly show appreciation for r&b legends
Otherwise y’all think r&b started with HOB
Notice how you never see The Weeknd stans in threads about r&b music or r&b classics/legends.
Chris brown has a greater legacy than The Weeknd whether dudes want to admit or not
We constantly show appreciation for r&b legends
Otherwise y’all think r&b started with HOB
It didn't start with HOB, but it sure did peak with HOB!
Do you know how huge he was on his way to being?
Movies, Tv shows, multiplatinum albums all before the age of 20.
Then It happened
Crine you really said 'It Happened' like it was some uncontrollable hurricane instead of beating the s*** outta Rihanna
Choreography too iconic
Breezy has like 10 of these lol
Love O though
He can’t dance, doesn’t produce his own s***, is a mediocre writer. All he’s got is his voice and he is absolutely not a top tier vocalist.
YOU may enjoy his voice but that doesn’t mean he’s got the best range, tone, control, etc.
How you can consider him the best artist of all time when he’s not even the best singer of all time (the only thing he’s good at) is beyond me
Simple as that
Is there something wrong with your ears?
I'm not the only person who has called the album repetitive. Here's a few others:
Critic reviews:
"One gripe I had while listening to “After Hours” was how repetitive the first half of the album sounded both lyrically and musically. "
-Ian Ward
"As the cohesive album covers the themes of love and faults, its songs do get repetitive with similar upbeat sounds and lyrics at times. "
-Alexsandra Schneider
"As brilliant as his music is, it can at times be repetitive and monotonous to hear the same brooding lyrics reminiscing a past lover."
-Srinithi Raj
User reviews on metacritic:
"The beats start to sound the same throughout the entire album."
"Literally all the songs sound the same. Don’t get the hype at all."
"It is a good album tho but a bit repetitive! Sometimes it gets a bit boring when the songs are too long and i feel like I've already heard the melodies"
"The album aesthetic is great but he quite couldn't pull it off because half of the album sounds the same (19 songs deluxe version) 10 songs at least are crap."
"All the other tracks sound so similar that at some points of the Album I cant tell the songs apart, even after multiple listens I don't get anything out of this album that I did not get on his earlier work. "
"My issue with this album is that most of the tracks have the same, dark vibe to it; there's not much replay value. "
"It felt like a lot of the same music over and over again"
"A lot of the songs sound like the same song... and the song wasn't good enough for you to repeat it 9 times"
"This was like some high quality mid"
Nobody was calling Migos the goat when they dropped Culture 2

I might have taken you seriously, but you quoted Joe Budden bro Plenty of critics loved it too, and who gives af about Metacritic users.
Reinforces the stereotype that most Canadians put out nonstop mid
Imagine not being Canadian

Imagine them actually forming a counter argument to this besides just dissing an avi or your fav artist

bro even the users loved it lmao (9.1 rn) dude decided to nitpick bad reviews like it makes his opinion a fact or sumn. the tracks do not sound the same get ya ears checked

Exactly, you could cherry pick arguments against any album ever made.
mixtape abel solidified his greatest. kiss land overrated. his previous pop albums before after hours put him into the high level pop star category. After hours is just a continuation of that with less inspiration from a production and writing style.
What labels do its saturate the market with the artist music without the artist experiencing life that allows them to create new content. Only a few artist can put out back to back projects and maintain its fanbase through and through - future comes to mind.

Stopped reading at Kiss Land overrated.
The songs objectively don’t sound repetitive like I don’t understand how you think Alone Again sounds at ALL like Too Late or how either of them sound at all like Snowchild and how any of them sound at all like Scared to Live

I never said it made my opinion fact; I used the reviews as proof that I wasn’t the ONLY one who held the opinion that After Hours is repetitive
I might have taken you seriously, but you quoted Joe Budden bro Plenty of critics loved it too, and who gives af about Metacritic users.
Bro idc who i’m quoting, you’re acting like I’m the only person who found the album repetitive and that simply isn’t true
