    agree with your point, but sales figures give greater glamour to books and movies (don't forget "box office smashes!") than they do music. why that is is a more interesting discussion.

    Man nobody in real life is having discussion about numbers and sales like many of you KTT nerds. Most americans don't probably even know who has the #1 song on the BB100 right now

    Advertisers might use numbers to market something but music sales and charts as a whole isn't a subject of discussion for most people IRL. People just listen to the music they like. Do you think he average person know who has the biggest streaming week on spotify in 2018 or the most #1 album on the BB200 or what DAMN, Views or Astroworld sold first Week ? Some of y'all are really delusional.

    for real most people don't even know half of the songs that went #1 this year.
