It was corny but also Cole was just mentally not inna great spot during that album (he’s said that in interviews how he was doubting himself the whole time during that process. I can see in that state, the words of someone being like “eh, wasnt my fav song of yours” inspiring a nigga to just make a whole track) due to the reactions to sideline story.
