    Title. Is it linked to any mental disorders? I feel like mine is getting worse, and its been hard to occupy my brain with something else other than thinking about my past.

    I know for a fact my mom's side has a lineage of mental health issues. S*** sucks but I’m gonna try meditation

    yes it’s bad. you don’t have to have mental illness to overthink...it can be something as simple as stress which can make you overthink but also could lead to physical and/or mental issues.

    Yeah, people with anxiety disorders, OCD, BPD and other disorders as well tend to overthink. It can lead to sleep issues, panic attacks, stress, etc. When you overthink you start making up scenarios in your head and if you can't stop, chances are they'll become (extremely) unrealistic and/or paranoid ideas.
