    I think it's not effective to think about things too much to the point where you don't even take action or make the wrong decisions. Very unhealthy. Overthinking is not the same as being mindful, which means thinking about your own thoughts and being aware about why you think or feel the way you do. That's healthy. The easiest way to compare the two is:
    Overthinking = quantitative
    Mindfulness = qualitative

    At first it's good because you start planning things out... BUT it turns bad because I think of everything that could go wrong and it becomes a form of negativity that I don't need

    Yeah knowing where you are and what you want to do is good. But when it turns into thinking of every possible situation and outcome is when your leaning towards a bad headspace

    I think people who overthink usually have lower self esteem and weaker inner core values. I overthink when I forget what I believe in or I'm in a situation where I feel like I don't have enough information to make the right decision. I think people overthink most frequently in situations where they're trying to force themselves to be someone they're not. Just my opinion tho.

    I don't practice it enough to give advice. But from the little that i've done you start to notice changes. Just be mindful of the present, let your thoughts flow without clinging on to them. Focus on your breathing. Those are good starting points for more advice you should look into through articles/videos/etc.

    Title. Is it linked to any mental disorders? I feel like mine is getting worse, and its been hard to occupy my brain with something else other than thinking about my past.
