bro artists dont pay for beats out of their pocket, labels give them an album budget and all of their expenses while recording the album have to come from that budget

if my homie has a limited budget where he can pay 40k for a beat, but i charge 80k for beats, better believe im giving him the beat for 40k because I know he really can't do more than that

anything else is being a trash friend

But are they real friends or industry friends

My take is, clearly Trippie and Pi’erre been working together forever, Nudy and Trippie were the first real artists with promise giving him a chance so I get why Trippie feels entitled about Pierre’s production and come up. The thing that we don’t know is how much he was charging before or if he was charging at all. If you got a business relation and friendship wit someone and they f*** you over by running up the price of what they are trying to sell you, you arnt just gonna be mad from the business sense but also like that person has switched up on you. S***ty situation all around but more or less seems like Pi’erre is realizing his worth and isn’t handing out s*** anymore so his “friends” are showing their true colors now that it’s gonna f*** up their money or quality of music.

every time he asks for free s*** Pierre is putting in work and losing money, at some point enough is enough

Most of the time artists dont spend anywhere near their entire budget on the actual music but instead keep the money to themselves

Major label artist budgets be big af too, pierre knows this

I mean like I said it’s a s***ty situation but it makes sense from Pierre’s perspective. If they were really your homie they would be paying you what you are worth (especially since Pierre’s production does enhance Trippies songs a lot). Should be a cobeneficial relationship not just a leech who only wants beats and doesn’t want to pay for them.

yeah thats why i even said last sentence

pierre might not consider him a "friend" now like how trippie thinks

cause sometimes people be squashing s***, but they dont forget

trippie took gummo pierre agreed, but he showed it to 69 without trippie and 69 tellin pierre about it

mf even made the song and uploaded it, blew up

so Pierre is in the right to do whatever he wants

Rap is just fortunate that the term “producer” doesn’t have the same connotations as it does in other genres. Where it’s synonymous and the same as just being an artist in that genre and you’re actually the outlier if you don’t produce, like electronic music for example. These rappers wouldn’t exist without the producers, it’s a symbiotic relationship but rappers profit the most cause they’re f***ing parasites and producers are expendable when most niggas make the same s***. So when a nigga like Pierre not only makes a unique sound but is willing to rap on his s*** too, I see why these rap niggas afraid.

there was a time when producers werent even mentioned like that

now they make the song, literally, the beat is probably the best thing nowadays

i dont mind producers getting the bag now

1000% on the money. Pierre is the taste maker rn that ish don't come cheap. If the music good it'll do numbers ad generate revenue so artists have to respect what producers do. There is a huge personal factor here though and we can't really speak on that
