    NETFLIX DOC COMING SOON

  • repent

love for him rises exponentially when he isn't doing dumb s***

If he started a PROPER rollout right now, he could easily do numbers and would be relevant. All he needs is a great single, good video, no bullshit tweets, and a great album and people will love him like they did in 2016 again. He just doesn’t want to do any of it so he’ll always be in this stage in his career

He's not really someone who cares about music for commercial sake. He's making music that he wants, not what you do. If he cared for popularity and relevance in charts he wouldn't have dropped JIK over Yandhi or done controversial stuff like endorsing Trump or made comments about slavery and stuff.
I am not sure if he would reach the same commercial peak even if he wanted to now due to the damages he's done to his image but he can still do much better and give a tough competition to the 'relevant' artists of today.

I've never believed this because it's very obvious that Kanye does things around album releases to boost relevance in hopes that it'll boost sales. He doesn't believe in bad press. And he's said multiple times over the past handful of years that it does bother him that he doesn't hear himself on the radio anymore. He cares, probably a lot, and he tries to do everything he can short of sacrificing his artistic vision.

He really needs to switch his PR companies if that's the case (which he has shown disdain towards by saying no one can manage him). He's not really helping his case by the antics he pulls. Honestly, I can't even comment properly about him considering his mental temperament. I don't know how a person who has bipolar disorder's brain works. Is it like an alter-ego or something cause he clearly takes actions which contradict his intentions in this case. I made my comments based on his actions, not intentions as I don't know much about him pre-2020 as I started listening and following him last year only. Honestly as much I would die for to listen to his new music, I won't be mad if he retires or atleast leaves the limelight for a few years for getting treated, the Dame Dash Doc did show he needs a lot of care which he didn't seem to get among those peers.

If you're fan of the guy you know he can come back whenever he wants. MBDTF was a conscious decision to get to the top of the game, and it worked. 2018 was a conscious decision to make hits, and it worked. He's still Ye, he still has the sauce.

nah hes definitely still very popular. I mean people be having debates and convos about him every day on twitter and he hasn't spoken a word since November. Jesus is King, his WORST record almost did 300K first week. hes got like 35 million Spotify listeners, which is crazy for a legacy artist like him. also kanye music is like the soundtrack for tiktok atp

Something a lot of Ye fans and rap fans don't understand is that his post 2016 music is very popular. Songs like Reborn, Ghost Town, Follow God, All Mine etc are quietly continuing to rack up a ton of streams.

People spin TLOP and Ye like they released yesterday, I see many posts about those two records. And like you said, some stuff off of KSG and JIK as well.

Been over since sacramento rant, could come back though

He just needs to drop a high quality album and have an actual era, not forget the album 2 weeks after the release.

TLOP was the last album that had AN ERA.

He also needs to actually drop albums too

As far as swaying the direction of music, it's significantly less than it was from 2004 to around 2016. No doubt about that. As a pop culture icon, he's arguably at his peak, but not in a good way.

the door is open for him to come back and take his throne back if he puts in the work and has the focus, but I don't think he ever will. Ye era destroyed his reputation and for the first time didn't have the music to match the controversy. JIK and Donda era were even worse, the latter cementing his current image as a washed-up psycho who lies about releasing music to get publicity.

He needs a Power-level comeback to change things, and I don't think he has that in him anymore.

JIK probably had the biggest “era” of anything since MBDTF, the Sunday service run and the movie were very significant, 2 videos too
