You know....there was a thread on here saying that, if you look at rap from the last 2 years, you would've thought 50 Cent won the sales battle of 07 instead of Kanye.

I think Kanye as a figure or celebrity will always be relevant and his music has aged well so people will always revisit his classics.

But, in terms of being THAT dude who's dictating hip hop culture, influencing trends, and having the general public excited about his next album, I honestly think those days are gone.

He's always going to have fans around like me and be in the news but he's not gonna be on the level of Grad/808's era Ye, MBDTF/WTT era Ye or even TLOP era Ye anymore. He's a veteran now who's left behind a legacy and still widely respected in rap and music.

this...I think people like Tyler, Gambino, Jaden, willow, etc are keeping that graduation "it's okay to be weird" energy alive but the whole gangster rap s*** is as big as its ever been nowadays

He needs to stay off twitter foreverrr

kanye on twitter is very entertaining. sadly it's just for promotional purposes but he has funny moments. he joined and was active in 2010, and we got mbdtf...so no, he doesn't need to stay off forever

It feels like a really odd time to be a Kanye fan. Just the other day I was thinking to myself how crazy it is not to hear about him every other day or looking forward to new music. Trying to find any info I could about him. Those days are passed us for sure.

With being super religious now. Claiming to never curse on record again ect. I just DK if he will ever hit like he once did. I'm glad dude seems to be in a happier place but I just don't think he could do anything like he has in the past with having that take. JIK was alright. Follow God's dope, I dig Hold On, Closed On Sundays is okay. Beyond that for me at least I don't really bump anything else on that album. Not being religious I just didn't connect with it much.

I see the comments in this thread and for sure no matter what he does people will listen but I think the Life Of Pablo was the last great Kanye album we'll get. Ye was okay but hasn't aged the best. JIK was a huge regress. Hands down his worst album. Even "nah, nah, nah" had so much potential to be dope. Love the SW reference but imagine 2010 or even 2016 Kanye rapping on that. It would've been way better.

Idk I'll always love Kanye. I still consider him and CuDi my top 2 favorite artist but I think his time has passed at this point. I'll still look out and listen to w.e. he does but I don't think the Kanye era is over unless he somehow finds a spark to make music ambitiously again like he once did and get over stuff like cursing on record and not worrying if guest curse

We won't know for sure until he does a legit album roll out and era.

the door is open for him to come back and take his throne back if he puts in the work and has the focus, but I don't think he ever will. Ye era destroyed his reputation and for the first time didn't have the music to match the controversy. JIK and Donda era were even worse, the latter cementing his current image as a washed-up psycho who lies about releasing music to get publicity.

He needs a Power-level comeback to change things, and I don't think he has that in him anymore.

lol when he passes away i can’t wait for you niggas who calling him a washed up psycho to start riding his meat again like what happened with mj showing fake love

It's also impossible to drop only classics, especially when you're experimental. MJ and Prince also had mid songs and projects. Some people in here are just delusional as f*** thinking Kanye will deliver classics on classics until he dies

for all his talent and hard work niggas forget this man is a human who is still blaming himself for his mother’s death and was diagnosed with bipolar when he was 40 left untreated for a long time. for all the hardships he has suffered he sacrifices himself for culture music and fashion

these niggas all gotta be newbies cos that man has done this s*** before. went silent for mbdtf. went silent between cruel summer and yeezus. went silent after his breakdown in 2016. this the first time they experienced it my guess

Fr people think he’s irrelevant now because he’s albums do 300k first week instead of 500k.

Dude, he just dropped one album you didn't like.

And Ye wasn't the greatest album either and that was before he became super religious. I just dk if we ever get anything better then Ye again but I hope

  • I think some of yall are in denial. I once was to but I just think Kanye for 1 doesn't care about music like he once did and 2 with his religious take. Even taking it as far at least with JIK of not wanting to work with people if they had pre martial s***and all that. When it's to that extreme the music suffers

  • Jun 4, 2021

I don’t want to believe that it is

There’s no other artists that can replace Ye artistry and anticipation for the album
