Features or his own songs being not enough, I got used to it. Not expect anything from Abel's songs. After Starboy I've made peace with the fact that every album (more to say, a collection of songs to fill/market an album for him/the label to sell), to have a guaranteed banger -- that I know for sure.
If he goes crazy and makes 2 or 3 he's already surprising me.
I know he gotta make that bread. He's reached a position in the industry millions dream of, and he'll milk it as much as possible while he's pop music's sweetheart, "until they're used to his face / So, baby, love me, oh, before they all love me, until you won't love me, oh because they'll all love me, ooh".
This way he's been doing things 2015 onwards, I don't agree with it, but I respect it, cause probably I would have done the same. Money is sweet.
But watching him devolve from the man who made the 2011 mixtapes to just making an attempt at "calculated music" aimed at raking streams, (and 9 out of 10 times failing, cause of not being dedicated at it, but just taking the easier shortcut) the bar was so low it was practically a tripping hazard in Hell, yet here he is, limbo dancing with the devil.

How is the style of Music he is making now devolving? I dont get it because if he didnt change his style, ppl would complain that he is one dimensional and only capable of doing that type of sound. I'll give that his new stuff is more commercial but I feel like he has improved as a singer over the years. Jmo. I think with After Hours he proved he can go the commercial route while at the same time blending it with a bit if his old style. Ultimately I'm happy that he is trying to expand his sound from what he did 10 years ago. I look forward to seeing how he follows up After Hours. I dont think Take My Breath is going to be the sound of the album at all, just for the record.
