Funny how Sorkin wasn’t even trying to go for 100% accuracy with the movie but still somehow came up with the best portrayal of how much Zuckerberg sucks

social network isn't exactly the greatest film of all time but most of these films are worst

pick the worst movie on that list and i can say with the utmost honesty and integrity that i have and will continue to watch it more than social network. i rewatched this recently and its a comedy now. it failed at capturing some herculean moment that it thought would go on to define the rest of the century. facebook self combusted in 2016. the film is too into the false dialectics of armie hamer vs mark zuckerberg when theyre hardly representative of any dynamic shift in class or social structure. also it puts too much stock in zuckerberg being an a****** for the greater good when he's really an exploitative person full stop. rashida jones's line about "every story needs a devil" shows the writers true colors. you may think i'm going too ham but people itt (and just far too often) put this movie on a pedestal and while it's magic is in allowing these flaws to go masked over with excellent writing, i dont get how it puls the wool over peoples eyes in 2020. its hilarious but best film when it fails to do exactly what it makes so obvious its intent is is such a reach

I appreciate how they filmed it over 10 years or something like that but cmon it’s so f***ing boring

ironically rewatched it a couple days before rewatching social network (netflix watchlist gettin punished rn during this quarantine) and it honestly is not boring in any way to me. i respect ur feelings on it tho because it is a slow movie but idk i feel at peace watching it

Personally speaking, the reason I enjoy the film so much (without spending two hours talking to you about how incredible the soundtrack that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross made) is because of Mark Zuckerberg’s character in the film. He is this socially cold wrecking ball of a person, and seeing him interact with a range of different personalities is so fascinating.

Yes Sorkin wrote his ass off yet niggas be hating.

Nigga started the script based off Mark’s blog post
