Well its not all black or white the way you put it

There's a difference between suppessing emotions in some cases just because you have to, you can't be "weak" always that just means you let s*** get to you often

And if you always suppress emotions that also doesn't mean you're "tough"

You need to balance everything out

  • Dudes ITT trying to consciously be tough guys. Either its you or it isnt lol. No acting needed

depends what you mean by 'emotionally open'

if you're crying in front of women about anything that isn't actually serious (death, trauma etc.) you're not going to be respected and if you're not respected then the relationship is doomed to fail. they dont like to hear it on twitter but in the real world its just the way it is.

I think there is a difference between being emotionally weak and being emotionally honest.

If you're emotionally weak you let everything get to you, get paralyzed by any uncomfortable situation, etc. It's not healthy for you. For example imagine breaking own and crying on the spot if a girl calls rejects you.

If you're just emotionally honest you let yourself feel things but don't get consumed by them or try to suppress/deny. Using rhe same example: if a girl rejects you dont act as if it didnt affect you but you dont start slobbering all over her.

I really like this. Emotionally weak people can’t cope in a healthy way. Their whole thought process is f***ed up. Emotionally honest people feel their emotions and manage to process them in a constructive and sustainable manner.

    facts

Suppression is a valuable skill in high intensity situations. But usually you wanna meditate on the feeling and let it pass.

Showing emotion and being emotionally weak are two different things. It seems like you just put down the fake macho facade and showed balance with yourself.

I was never fake macho I was just very detached from my emotions and not on a stoic and empowering way. More like a lazy and just idiotic way

Women say this because they're only attracted to emotionally strong men, who are not showing them emotion, which is validation and leverage for them.

So they indirectly and collectively, say they "want emotional men" or "want a man that opens up to me" to get the upperhand in their relationships. But they don't realize when they have the upperhand, they lose all attraction to that man and will seek for a stronger man. This is why you have to try to exude strength at all times no matter how much she b****es and cries about it. Women leave relationships/marriage 90% of the time. You'll notice when you don't fold or cave in to their tests, she stays around. But when you do, she loses interest.

It's all a giant test. All this woke new age equalism is bs because the data and outcomes suggest otherwise

    My takes:

Not all women are the same or need the same things from all men

A person is not emotionally weak for experiencing emotion and conveying the significance of those emotions to a significant other in a constructive manner

Not all emotions are worth expressing the moment you feel them and it's generally not cool to put people through the ups and downs of your inner turmoil

It's NOT healthy to live your life as if your emotions are being used as ammo for others and I'm seeing that fear all over this thread

    Definitely isn’t a good thing

  • Feb 12, 2022

As long as you don’t make your whole personality about communism you should be good though

  • Feb 12, 2022

How do you define emotional strength anyways. I've been around assertive and emotionally "strong" people and they were always the most dense human beings imaginable.

Like strength isn't always a virtue

But don’t cry g. That’s for the birds. Express your anger in other ways. Be a creator not a destroyer

i know you joking but niggas really be taking this s*** seriously.
