That whole soundcloud era is just wasted potential to me. Artists would get on with cutting edge, unique sounds and would totally abandon them for mainstream appeal. S*** happened to X with his hardcore trap sound, s*** happened to Lil Uzi when he never followed up on the hip-hop/ pop punk fusion, Yachty stopped making cutesy punk trap and tried to become the 4th migo, hell even lil pump was kind of interesting at first but now he's just an ig comedian. Only rapper that full on committed to their sound and did it well was playboi carti with Die Lit. S***'s hard out here for underground fan's , could have easily gone down as a classic era but there were so little good albums to come out of it.
Uzi made Luv is Rage 2 tho ?
it's a classic era regardless tbh
Half of his music sounds like Bones s*** from 2013-2014 and the other half is angsty suicide boys or ruben slikk type stuff. I guess he just occupied a similar space that they did bundled with a hint of early tyler. I would've loved his s*** if I heard it in 2013 when I was a sophomore in highschool
okage the shadow king is pretty slick imo, that's all i can think about rn
