Those are the more recent releases I've been digging, but haven't been on hip hop as much lately because I don't find the current mainstream sound to my cup of tea (to each their own though). Lately been super into Billy Strings and Daily Bread which are both doing crazy things with their sounds as far as their genres. Not sure if KTT f***s with that kind of music, but figured I'd drop some links.

It’s like,I’m literally tired of making excuses for dudes. The s*** that comes out now from new guys just sucks and lacks any kind of quality or soul to actually stick. Rap game just got overthrown by a bunch of untalented but crafty people who knew how to feed off kids/young adults but adults are leaving the genre of rap in droves. I feel like the genre has never been this Wack in its long-standing history.

It’s never been this commercial or controlled by labels like it is now either

  • Mar 10, 2022

You mean as far as good music or like good music that is has saturated the general public? Bcus i think media pipeline trends have removed the regularity of the radio star n online spaces r so fractured there’s no real one space an artist can capture n does capture a big ear. I’m surprised keep isn’t more popular bcus his music is great.

That aside I think a lot of smaller acts might have more knowledge on the function of bigger labels n maybe dubbing it.

I like yeat n I get it’s not for some but I couldn’t imagine having the time energy or bandwidth to pretend to like music.

People comparing new school to day Kendrick and drake generation but we had labeled the next wave the SoundCloud generation for a reason. Listening moved primarily online and I don’t think we will see huge stars like that bubble again because there’s no place like SoundCloud anymore either.

The genre itself is fried at this point. The reason most newer artist blow these days has more to do with marketing then the actual music itself. So at this point, the game is damaged beyond repair, when a dude like Ye turns into a publicity stuntman, the games in disarray. Drake doesn’t care at this point but I think he’s at a crossroads in his career.

The world is in disarray and full of misinformation so Hip Hop is in disarray and full of misinformation. There’s nothing I could possibly want out of this genre now as a long time fan cause the foundation is totally destroyed.
