Jay's albums between RD and BP1 were mid so that argument is pretty weird, he needed an artistic change and Ye came at the right time to provide that and Ye is one of the greatest producers of all time, there is no 2nd Ye or an alternative that would've given Hov the same input (at least most unlikely), same as MMLP would've most likely been a worse album without Dre and replacing him with lesser producers, there's a reason why these producers are in everybody's top 10 cuz they are irreplaceable

Who said Hov wouldn't have survived? I said Ye helped Hov stay at the very top, Hov would've been around nontheless, there's no doubt about that but I very highly doubt that BP would've even been a classic.

I doubt that if we're talking quality/innovation, Hov needed a change and imo he was on a constant decline with his albums quality-wise, I just don't see Hov being the same artist without the change of artistic direction that was largely initiated by Kanye, sales-wise he would've been good but his whole career and legacy wouldn't have been as great as it is now
