i do think there is kinda a weird 'mean spiritedness' to it all. like it goes past standard rap brags into this weird 'look how successful i am!' stuff.
good album tho
I got a homeboy who I can say with confidence, that he’s listened to more NERD/Neptune’s than anyone on this this site has.
and guess what, he stans Tyler heavily
But y’all love to contradict yal selves and hate on a young black artist that paved his own way.

The whole odd future fanbase being quasi-socialist/proletariat all of a sudden gimmick is weird considering A. the fanbase and B. those clothes weren't the cheapest
Tyler is 100% inspired by and borrows from Pharrell and the Neptunes a lot. He says I want to make this beat sound like ___ by the Neptunes all the time. Lmao. I have no idea why this is considered bad or breaking news tho. Literally he’s been telling everyone that for 12 years now. And I hate to burst everyone’s bubble but a lot of great musicians repurpose things they’re inspired by. Pharrell is inspired by Q-Tip a lot. Doesn’t take away from his own lane.
Oh yeah I’m aware on how Tyler loves Pharrell. I’m more so specifically talking about this era on how the copying is so blatant.
The thing is Tyler didn’t bring anything new to the table with his latest album.

Collectivism and socialism for thee, supreme 5 panel caps and Kermit shirts for me

there is nothing inherently socialist about cheap products or cheap prices.
You'd think people would learn that after right wing loons feigned offence at AOC's merch and left wing dullards actually ate it up.
OP got a kanye avi complaining about somebody being too materialistic
as materialistic as Ye is his last three albums are void of that
Ye
JiK
KSG

Sort of makes u think that a certain type of people really don’t follow any kind of personal doctrine

That’s fair fam, I don’t think he necessarily brought something new to the table with this album either. But I don’t think that makes an album bad per say. I like Igor for example. I think you could make a case it’s inspired by/copies “The Love Below”. Maybe I just don’t hold as much weight in something being completely new or original as much as others.
Also the prevalence of the idea that socialism = no possessions just shows how misinformed people are about politics.

That’s my main complaint with CMIYGL, but I’m the type of nigga who loves experimental forward thinking things in general so I can see how some ppl who aren’t like that appreciate the direction t took for CMIYGL. Hoping that his eighth album shakes his whole s*** up

A lot of s*** opinions on this site with no thought put into it to reinforce it just blindly typing things and pressing post

I never said it was a bad album or anything. I just have a hard time listening to it. I’m probably stuck in my old ways as well.

I’m not a huge Tyler fan but isn’t that how he brands himself as being experimental? That’s also why I find this era odd.
It’s cool to see him talkin his s*** but I really don’t remember that many people doubting him as he says lol
