Nope, Chris Brown was a global superstar. He is still way bigger than a lot of the artists and rappers people claim are popping.

He is one of the highest selling artists of all time and 80% of those sales are from songs, features and albums released AFTER he got cancelled. He has had multiple songs released in the last few years go multiple platinum.

He would've been the one if it wasn't for that night. But he only got himself to blame for that.

No guidance? Under the influence? To a lesser extent Sensational?

Ngl under the influence a big song. Chris Brown a star as simple as that.

You're obviously too young to remember the status of Usher around 1997-2004. CB has never reached that level of success or fame. Confessions sold 14 millions in the US alone and he was arguably the biggest artist in the world when that album peaked. Chris Brown's status in R&B is higher than it should be due to the fact that he's been active during the "not-at-all-golden-era of R&B".

He is right. Post usher, chris brown was a rnb superstar or at the very least on his way. The public perception and success shifted when he beat rihanna.

He’s the one that classified it as pop. It’s an independent release by him lol. Also he’s said he doesn’t see himself as an r&b artist.

Sad he fumbled like he did, this timeline is wack.

na hasn't had a smash in years n his last 2 albums flopped he still doing well off big world tours though

2018: Freaky Friday. Huge hit. 5x platinum and Top 10 on H100.

2019: No Guidance. Diamond (was certified 8x platinum in 2021 - 2 years after its release - so it should be diamond now) and top 5 on H100. Drake feature so that played a big part

2020: Go Crazy. Top 3 on H100 and 3x platinum without being updated since 2021

2022: Under The Influence +1 billion streams, #12 on Billboard H100, think it was the most played song on US radio as well

2023: He released an album in Nov and a non-single song has +100m streams

That's just the stand out tracks. He has had several songs released during this time that are platinum and has hopped on features that he made hits. Like ''Easy'' by Dani Leigh. She released ''Easy'' and it didn't take off. He hopped on the remix which became 4x platinum (her highest certified song)

Chris Brown really was on an international superstar level at some point. I don't care much for the nigga, but that whole EDM era he had was HUGE for raising his profile.

This article is hating hard. It's much easier to just say you're not a Chris Brown fan than try to discredit/downplay his stardom.
