go listen to that cilvia demo and then come back to this single. Its not even the style on this one that is jarring but zay doesnt really sound at home on this track and while his feature wasnt that great either his energy halfway saved the song. Its still not a good song by any means but whatever emotion he tapped in on cilvia and part of tst is seemingly gone for all we know. It sucks that those albums came during some of his lowest points.

maybe for zay but idk. So everybody he signed is mentally unstable? I know every artist has their vice but its weird to have a music label that rarely puts out music. Thats not to downplay what the artist are going through, but its technically bad business if you see the signs. Its the same reason who you work for probably ask if people have a history of mental illness before hiring so they can tempter expectations.

top does everything to care for his artists, but it's up to them at the end of the day to come thru with their music

for CTRL, when it was originally gonna drop in 2017, SZA was dealing with anxiety and considered scrapping the album and going into hiatus, but top made her sit down and finish the vision that he shared with her for the album, and look how that turned out

top has been dealing with the stereotypes of "label mob boss" for how many years? And yet he still comes through

Great piece by Fader. Man I pray Zay doesn’t become one of THOSE artist that we lose too soon when they have so much more to give. I’m glad to hear he’s on the right path. I can’t wait for the album.
