I find the history of islam quite interesting. How do yall feel about the hadiths? Yall trust them? Or not at all? Or is it not important?

Hadiths are actually really important in the religion. They provide context for how the Quran was revealed and give insight into the teachings and practices of the Prophet pbuh. There is a science to Hadiths tho and different classifications based on how reliable and trustworthy they are.

You can't practice islam without the hadith. The Qur’an gives general rules, not always specifics. Like it tells you to pray, but not HOW. Similar for zakāh, fasting rules, and ḥajj rituals. the Qur’an refers to them, but the detailed execution is found in hadith. Application of criminal laws and inheritance cases were clarified by the Prophet’s actions and words.

Every Hadith has a chain: A heard from B, who heard from C... who heard from the Prophet.
Scholars examined every person in the chain: Were they honest? Were they known liars? Did they live at the same time as the person they claim to narrate from?

Chains were compared across narrators. If 3–5 people all report the same Hadith with minor differences, that strengthens its authenticity.

The content of the Hadith is a***yzed: Does it contradict the Qur’an? Is it logical? Does it clash with stronger Hadith?
Fabricated or weak Hadith often failed this test.

Remember Bukhari (the OP hadiths collector) was a persian and his family were zoroastrians enslaved and killed by arab muslims so for revenge he collected 600 thousand horseshit hadiths so that the ummah for eternity argue over the sunnah and stay dumbfounded . And to his credit he succeeded… the west is making reusable rockets planning to land a man on mars and our ulemma are arguing over whether toothbrush is haram or not because “miswak” is the sunnah
