not really. the war began in 2013 in odessa when neo-nazi paramilitary groups at the service of the government burned the trade union headquarters and murdered a bunch of public figures.

I literally just said im not justifying the invasion. I said the war was started by irregular units of the ukrainian armed forces which then spread to the donbass and became the seperatist insurgency. ukraine is only a victim of its own fascist irridentism and imperialist backing pushing the region toward large scale war.

the self-determination of the seperatist republics was never respected on either side.

the seperatist struggle for independence, plurinationalism, and socialism was closer to the palestinian struggle than either side of this inter-imperialist war. anyway don't bring this up to a palestinian if you don't want the perspective, I was around in 2014 when this was all happening.
