I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!

    DONALD J. TRUMP
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Hamas Movement in a press statement:

    • After responsible and serious negotiations conducted by the movement and Palestinian resistance factions regarding President Trump's proposal in Sharm El-Sheikh, aimed at reaching a cessation of the war of extermination against our Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip; the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announces the reaching of an agreement that stipulates the end of the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupation from it, the entry of aid, and the exchange of prisoners.

    • We highly appreciate the efforts of the mediating brothers in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, and we value the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at permanently stopping the war and the complete withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.

    • We call on President Trump, the guarantor states of the agreement, and various Arab, Islamic, and international parties to compel the occupation government to implement the agreement's obligations in full, and not allow it to evade or delay the implementation of what has been agreed upon.

    • We salute our great people in the Gaza Strip, in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and inside and outside the homeland, who have recorded unparalleled stances of pride, heroism, and honor, and confronted the fascist occupation's projects that targeted them and their national rights; those great sacrifices and stances that thwarted the Israeli occupation's plans for subjugation and displacement.

    • We affirm that our people's sacrifices will not be in vain, and that we will remain true to the covenant, and we will not abandon our people's national rights until freedom, independence, and self-determination are achieved.

Getting their last punches in, just like the previous ceasefire

A great day for Israel. Tomorrow I will convene the government to approve the agreement and bring all our dear hostages home.

I thank the heroic soldiers of the IDF and all the security forces, thanks to whose courage and sacrifice we have reached this day.

I thank from the depths of my heart President Trump and his team for their mobilization for this sacred mission of releasing our hostages.

With the help of the Almighty, together we will continue to achieve all our goals and expand peace with our neighbors.

We'll see if this temporary pause ends up being like the January ceasefire.

The Zio cockroaches will just use the pretense of Hamas not disarming to restart the genocide once their prisoners of war are released

Just don't have hope for this to be long lasting

Egyptian sources to Al-Araby revealed details of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, most notably the entry of 400 aid trucks per day to the Gaza Strip, for the first five days.

After the first five days, aid will enter without daily limits coordinated through international institutions, according to the sources.

The entry of 400 aid trucks was reportedly an amendment Hamas introduced into the latest ceasefire proposal.

The sources also revealed that the agreement stipulates that the IOF cease all military operations the moment the agreement comes into effect, and that captives will be released 72 hours after that. The agreement is composed of three phases.

It breaks my heart seeing some of the videos of people celebrating and i hope that the painful conditions will lessen significantly obviously we know justice will not fully be served but any relief that can come i will be happy for.

We know the type of entity the occupiers are but even still i dont want to be too negative preemptively

If this is what Gaza is actually agreeing to then Oct 7 was literally the worst strategic error in history. Silver lining is like all of Gen Z hates Israel now and Israel won’t “fully” occupy them.

    America won
    Israel half-lost half-won

🚨 Hamas Spokesman Hazem Qassem to Al-Jazeera:

The occupation is trying to manipulate the dates, lists, and some of the agreed-upon steps.

The occupation must adhere to what was agreed upon, and we call on the mediators to pressure it.

What we understood from the mediators is that the agreement is the beginning of ending the genocide war on the Gaza Strip.

The occupation is still stalling on issues of withdrawal, lists of prisoners, and the return of displaced persons.

❗️A senior Hamas leadership source told Al Jazeera that negotiations over the prisoner lists are still ongoing, with intermediaries making intensive efforts to finalize the file in the coming hours. The source added that the movement is holding a national dialogue with other factions to unify their position on Israel’s response to the lists, and confirmed that Hamas delivered its final response this morning regarding the timelines for implementing the agreement.

Every revolution is a throw of the dice. Wouldn't call Al-Aqsa Flood the worst strategic error in history though, many slave revolts and rebellions against occupiers led to worsening conditions in the short term but played some decisive role in the final defeat of the oppressor.

I just the balance of what originally happened vs the result is hugely imbalanced here. Arguably it resulted in the (literal, material) destruction of all of Gaza and a hyper-accelerated holocaust of which Israel basically has no punishment other than public opinion and then the peace plan basically strips the people of actual representation in favor of quasi-rule by a western protectorate. It almost cannot get worse in the short term.
