    EDIT:

Alright this is gonna be my last response on the matter and I'll let everything else I wrote speak for itself.

FIrst, I'd argue it's more respectable that he flips the watch as an investment, which is what many people do who collect things in general. If that is the case then I have less of an issue with the purchase because it has a function instead of some superficial flex from a man who should be pretty confident otherwise.

Second, owning real estate in NYC or Southern California is extremely expensive no matter what, so I wouldn't call that superfluous more like circumstantial. Frank has no control over the housing market, and I don't blame him for wanting to live in either city.

Third, Frank's said he would've been a mechanic if he never pursued music, so his passion for cars is something authentic, not just some flex. The BDC mag was basically an automotive themed text.

So the watch thing to me just seems like he's trying to assimilate into the Vogue Met Gala class. From someone who came from the background he did, I don't really like to see that because he knows what having budget your living expenses to survive is like. Franks got a great fashion sense irrespective of this purchase, and like I said I could find a $400 watch that looks more pleasing to the eye.

So yes I think the lyrical content lately is pretty bland. He mentioned this watch in In My Room, when later in the song he's talking about a relationship turned violent. I hope he focuses on the latter in his new album.

Knew this was coming lmao. You a temporarily embarassed millionaire yourself? I'd rather he pay off someone's debt with that money instead. Who he have to flex for? How much material s*** do you need to prove your worth or be happy?

Man doesn't need that s*** to make himself feel valuable. Also don't wanna hear more bars about the s*** he's buying. It's been like half of his lyrics lately, don't want an album of it because its cliche and boring.

Man worked his ass off from nothing back home in NOLA, that says more than a watch ever could.

Maybe he just wants it bro. If I had as much money as Frank I'd probably buy some dumb expensive s*** too.

He's probably gonna flip it for twice the amount. I heard Charlemagne say that watches are a good investment when you get money.

Only if there's a high demand for it or the price of it is tied to the value of the metals it's made from. Like solid gold Rolexes go up and down in value based on the price of gold.

This watch seems like kind of an art piece. It's pretty special and unique, IMO. Could be worth a lot to a collector one day. If it's a one off, anyway. If they are making a "production run" of them I wouldn't call this an investment

I can find a $400 watch that looks better than that, so let's not act like this is about aesthetic choices. It's all about showing off and being in an elite club.

People's indifference to excess is really a strange thing.

Imagine assuming that frank went and bought it and it wasn’t a gift from someone.

Imagine having a preference as to how Frank should spend his money.

Imagine correlating an expensive purchase to the quality of his music.

Frank been owning expensive s*** since he was put on and now you’re complaining???

Nononono, people’s indifference to what other people are doing if it doesn’t negatively affect anyone is/should actually be quite common. On the other hand, being concerned with what a celebrity buys for themselves like they have some sort of moral obligation as though they were a pastor buying some sort of private jet is the actual strange thing to be PISSED about.

Not to be rude, the fact that you lack this awareness considering every single other person in the thread is looking at you funny is also a strange thing. People need to realize that celebrity s*** like this is none of your business, especially to the point of being legitimately upset, no matter how much you like their music.
