Think about it like this: you’re hungry, your mom is barely ever home she’s too busy working to try to keep the lights on, schools don’t give a f***, police f*** with you every chance you get..etc

Then you see these other niggas who are eating and they offering you more than what you have ever had.

Which choice you taking as a young man? Sadly some of the dudes I was friends with picked the 2nd one and it makes sense why. One of em paid the price too.

Luckily I never had to make that choice and my parents was there for me. I’m glad I got the f*** out of baltimore too.

The reason why I ask about how to make the distinction between the two types of gang members was to ask

Don’t you think a gang member who is only in a gang for survival reasons and wants to live a peaceful life and has only ever hurt people in self defense is morally better than a domestic abuser of any kind, but that a gang member who is in a gang because they are attracted to crime, promote and engage in crime, and have recklessly killed people in relation to committing crimes, is actually worse than a domestic abuser of any kind?

If we’re gonna compare gang banging to domestic abuse I think we have to look at it from a more detailed lens being as both groups have actors that engage in completely different activities and are coming from different upbringings.

This is literally a genre that came up off of glorifying a whole lotta bad s*** in general, like murder, misogynistic lyrics, both using and dealing d****, (I love d**** but in the eye of the general public, they’re “bad”.) rappers that promote scamming, etc., the list literally goes on.

Now none of this bothers me at all, and I love Hip Hop for a reason, but this is a genre where ALL of this flies. Melly killed his “best friend” in cold blood then made a song about it on some real life sicko s***, and mfs are still screaming “FREE MELLY!”.

It’s been shown time and time again that there’s never an actual “Too far” or “Too much”. These artists are real life murderers and rapists, and will still have an entire legion of sheep bowing at their feet. Look at R. Kelly. Convicted and in prison and proven he did that s***, and mfs still kiss his ass.

But yet you gon tell me this is the same culture that will try to cancel an artist because some offensive Tweet from 10 years ago resurfaced? Or because somebody is self loathing/self racist (Doja Cat)? That’s too much but full blown murder and rape isn’t? Mfs tried to cancel Tory over an unconvicted and unproven shooting but they’ll scream every last lyric about smokin on the dead opps. And some are characters sure, but especially in the Drill scene, these mfs are talkin bout real events on record.

Even pedophilia hasn’t buried anybody, shown on full display by 6ix9ine.

Nothing is ever too far, and yet cancel culture is still somehow fully ingrained in Hip Hop.

No but I'm saying that a culture that thinks saying "smoking Tooka" is hard is somewhat hypocritical for acting appalled when a rapper shoots a woman.

I love Hip Hop but cancel culture in it has never made sense and always been wishy washy.

The tooka thing is even more evil considering his Mom has spoken for a long time about how it hurts.
