every time yall view it as a mindless emotional checkers move, yet as time goes on we see he was really playing chess
and then yall have nothing to say 🤔 (until the next tweets at least)
What chess moves did he do? I'm curious.
Yeah that's the thing it's highly unlikely, but it isnt a bad thing to champion and fight for only way I can see this happening is if new labels are built with better practices but even then the ones already in place have such a stronghold
I agree
But my view is that he’s got this idea about y combinators
He has money
He has connections
He has clout to new artists
Why not set that up without the labels
He’s got more than enough money to get it going and more than enough influence to get people to buy into it and more than enough connections to get partners for funding
Why even involve the labels at all? Force them to make change rather than asking them
With all love to you
He’s seemingly abandoned the prison reform stuff. Sure he helped the first step act get passed but he’s barely mentioned it since then
He’s basically abandoned running for President
He’s abandoned multiple albums and projects
I’m sure I can pull up other stuff but that’s just in the last 2 years
I would LOVE to see him making a tangible change in the music industry towards empowerment. But him publicly tweeting about it before doing anything, being unable to get out of his contract, choosing to go through major labels instead of running his own thing and putting his own music at the center of it just doesn’t fill me with confidence
I just want to see tangible change from him that would make me incredibly happy
no one here knows what going on behind the scenes. you see him tweet 20 times in a day, but that's only gives you a fraction of a percent of what's going on in his life. like why create baseless assumptions and then react to them.
Kanye abandoned prison reform
Yeah if he’s not talking about it 24/7 he’s abandoning it
Dude has the smallest pea brain

nah im pretty sure he's for it. he just puts too many things on his plate

Because if he’s doing s*** behind the scenes then why would he not say that in one of the tweets
He literally asked for drakes number publicly cause he didn’t have it
I completely understand what you’re saying but Kanye has just gotten to a point for me where my first assumption is that he decided to do this yesterday
nah im pretty sure he's for it. he just puts too many things on his plate
He’s for everything he believes in he doesn’t feel like he has to limit his reach to one or two issues he wants to tackle everything he personally sees is wrong
The moment y’all get that is the moment y’all have basic understanding of Ye
nah im pretty sure he's for it. he just puts too many things on his plate
Exactly
He wants to do everything and be everything
That’s great but it doesn’t mean anything without actually doing the stuff

Yeah I think that's ultimately what he is trying to do with his new "imprint" or whatever it is, Yeezy Sound. I'm not too sure on the details tho and he would need to explain it better but I feel like it's more of a good music 2.0 where it's not directly under a label itself and I think it benefits the artist more but again I have no idea lol

Try shutting the f*** up and watching things unfold

Yea hopefully
I’m meaning more of a platform than a label though
We have indie labels already what the industry needs is a platform that can have hundreds of artists and can provide them the tools and funding to be indendent
Seeing this puts it into perspective just how insane what Frank Ocean did to reclaim his masters and ownership, dude basically won an impossible chess match
With all love to you

not even gonna address the first example because he obviously made real life progress with that, just because you havent heard anything doesnt mean it’s “abandoned”
second example, it’s wild to me how y’all can’t see it’s a practice run for 2024 but hey even then, he obviously hasn’t abandoned it, but you know that hence why you put “basically”
you purposely leave out everything else, all of the other COUNTLESS times he’s played the long game and won, with all love to you as well im not sure what you were trying to tell me with this post fam
it’s perfectly okay to be critical of him, im not trying to say the guy is always right. But this narrative of him not put things to action is the most ridiculous ktt narrative ive seen in quite a while
What chess moves did he do? I'm curious.
do i have to take you through the entire progression of his career?
Even if we just go back to 2013, people could not grasp why he was so passionate about clothes, and expensive ones at that. When he spoke about wanting to provide the masses with higher quality clothing people returned it with “well then why are you charging an arm and a half for a blank hoodie”
People don’t understand until they see it with their own eyes, the progression. They didn’t understand that he had to break in through the luxury realm before he could achieve what he said he was going to do
Now here we finally are SEVEN years later, where he has a deal with GAP and is going to be doing exactly what he claimed he would do
Yea hopefully

I think might be a lil more than just an indie label, like a mix of DONDA creative team, good music and tidal, since it has a patent as a streaming service
Just gonna have to wait and see
kanye is the literal definition of actually doing the tangible thing
he just also seems to enjoy tweeting out beforehand what he is going to accomplish
