elaborate on the noise cancelling part
Wait hold up, I remembered wrong, they basically amplified really tiny sounds with some built-in mic so you could hear a pin drop, but the main thing was that after a year of not using headphones, putting stuff that played sound into my ears felt wrong, like it was way way louder and more invasive than what I've now grown accustomed to
I got airpod 3s and theyre so quiet with little bass compared to my old earbuds. The qualities way better but im used to ear drum damaging levels of volume and bass
Yall better take this s*** serious lol. I have pretty aggressive tinnitus. I'm used to it these days and don't even really notice it much but the first 6-8 months were hell and I thought about killing myself weekly
Mine sounds like the aftermath of a CoD flashbang. 24/7
My iPhone gives me that “your headphones are too loud” notification pretty much daily it’s mad annoying

Same
Try to listening to music on low volume in the night time. Easier to pick up on sound in the darkness and u might get used to that setting like that

This is actually concerning
i can listen to some r&b or foreign music or some jazz at lower volume but hip hop yeah sometimes i crank it

Been me for the last 5 years. Everyday is hell.
I never did that
I’m an engineer and artist so I always prefer listening at a nominal level so I can hear the details in the production and the mix
When you blast the f*** out of your music not only are you damaging your ears but you can’t hear it properly like that anyway. You loose all of dynamics when you do that so all the loud and soft elements of the music get mushed together to make one loud blob of noise. Not only that but the human ear hears frequencies differently depending on loudness.
Here’s a video on equal loudness for anyone who is interested in the subject
I really feel like listening at overly loud levels be why a lot of people have s***ty taste in music tbh. That and listening to low fidelity versions of music on YouTube or Spotify on cheap headphones/speakers instead of listening to hifi or master quality. Basic AirPods are ok but they lack detail. Get pros.
Dudes be sitting there hating on everything because they can’t hear s*** meanwhile I be in my studio listening to new music and loving it
Listening to modern music improperly and complaining about how it sucks is like playing PlayStation 5 on a 720p tv and complaining about how the graphics aren’t impressive meanwhile someone like me playing on a OLED @ 4k 120hz VRR and s*** look like a window into another realm
I can help you with that brother. Instead of listening to music on low volume you should listen tp rappers that educate your mind. Especially if they be rapping bout stuff you want to learn. For example i never knew stuff about indian people. But when lloyd banks said „ I know the watch bothering your vision but reach and I’ll put a dot on your head like its part of your religion“ i was like whow ok thats it now i know
Some songs sound better in lower volume--especially if you're using headphones. You start to hear certain intricacies in the track that you never heard when you were blasting it lol

I was listening to DJ Quik at a lower volume the other night and I caught so many different grooves from his beats that I didn't catch when playing it on the speaker.
