Imagine these AI artists become public stock options to invest in. Can make money off an AI artist based on their success like A&Rs do

"This is an r&b/hip-hop music piece. There is a male vocal rapping and a female vocal singing in a rap-like manner. The beat is comprised of a piano playing the chords of the tune with an electronic drum backing. The atmosphere of the piece is playful and energetic. This piece could be used in the soundtrack of a high school drama movie/TV show. It could also be played at birthday parties or beach parties." The AI made a Drain Gang song out of this

This example is completely off base.

Cameras don’t set up pictures and take photographs by themselves, it takes a human photographer to coordinate everything that goes into a shot and create the final product.

These AI programs are literally creating music by themselves, therefore effectively eliminating the role of a human producer or a human audio engineer if the technology becomes advanced enough to do that effectively as well

It’s not off base at all

those painters did not become the photographers. they kept painting. and the art of painting evolved because of the elimination of a task they had to do that we thought was necessary

you should do more research on AI. imagine what true producers will be able to do with these programs

AI is here. It’s not going away.

writing it off and not being open to its advantages is only gonna get your ass left behind

at the end of the day it’s another tool that’s going to advance the field

what was painting originally used for? to record historical moments exactly as they happened

then the camera was invented in the early 1800s and the profession of painting no longer relied on accurate photorealistic works of art

it was this invention of the camera that allowed artists to free their minds and truly dive into surrealism and abstraction with their paintings

AI will do the same for art, graphic design, music, ext. It will become a tool that will allow artists to experiment differently and advance their process

The only “artists” afraid of AI are those who’s skill set is more reliant on technical ability instead of creativity

    Good post

And how does something like this positively impact me and my profession? I’m an instrumental music teacher who teaches people the technical skills in order to create music on their instrument.

You don’t get the creativity without the technical skills, especially in the arts.

Something that comes to mind is film scores. If something like this program becomes mainstream and common practice, why wouldn’t a film studio opt to use a program like this to score their film, as opposed to hiring a composer or an orchestra?

sounds like you can’t comprehend or are even trying to understand how AI can be beneficial

never said technical skill wasn’t important, that’s the foundation

but what happens when a program has the same skill set as you? what’s your value? that’s where creativity and the ability to embrace new technology comes into play

you can’t break the rules unless you know the rules

I'm a pessimist because I believe there are limits to creativity. Or maybe creativity will flourish because people will be forced to move outside of the bounds of what they deem to be conventionally creative.

But what happens when those producers' efforts mean nothing when the AI is doing all the heavy lifting? Was it really the producer efforts shining through or the AI?

That's the issue with all of this.

AI will be likely able to do anything a human within 5-10 years. This is not an exaggeration. Entire industries will change soon. Once AI can do everything a human can do, we will only want human created art imo

Also if we don’t do it, someone else will. And they’ll have power no one else will, which is not great. It’s kind of inevitable

Yes but what distinction do u make for “human” art

The tools people use now are like ai compared to earlier anyway

I guess u mean pure physical art?

between the tools that exist between like deepfakes + AI bootlegs are gonna flood the market

you can basically do (for example):
AI-generated lyrics w// like "generate in the style of kendrick lamar"
    deepfake kendrick voice
ai-generated music, just make the prompt vaguely kendrick-related

throw those together and you basically bootleg an entire person's career
