pandemic happened people are still unemployed and I doubt they would waste they money on an album or a streaming service
But you gotta look at middle child, the interlude doing GREAT numbers since the last drop. He is right on track streaming wise. S***, I personally bought physicals of each Cole album up until this one my damn self. That’s a major difference I think with his fan base. He usually eats well in pure sales
He does for sure and they are available for people to buy on iTunes and thefalloffera.com. It’s not like he didn’t make physical copies for ppl to buy

You got a point. Wonder if this will impact the other members of “the big 3” if they drop this year

it affects everyone just how it is
Yikes
Final numbers will probably be somewhere between 270K-285K.
Also needs to be noted that this s*** has ZERO singles on it lol. Closest is My Life IMO and that is easily on the lower level of a far reaching single for Cole. Great song, won’t have nearly the legs of some of coles previous singles. This project wasn’t for THAT.
Very convenient bringing this up now when he's about to do less than 300K. Where were the big budget radio smash singles for 2014 FHD, 4YEO & KOD when they all did over 300K?
Back then, y'all actually used that as a way to prop up their first week numbers. "Cole has no radio singles and he's doing x numbers first week!" Now you're acting like Cole has ever needed singles to do huge numbers. No need to do that. The reality of the situation is that pure sales is dead and gone and this is the range most of the biggest artists will fall into now with regards to first week numbers.

Deja Vu was a radio single. it didnt work because bryson used it first.
No Role Modelz was a radio single. It worked.
Different times. False equivalence. If you really wanna play this game, we can talk about drake only doing like 220k last year. He didnt even outsell eminem first week and eminem dropped a surprise album with zero promo and barely ever releases music.
Someone can be wrong and end up modifying their position given the new information. Cole doing under 300k is an indication we are in different times especially if no1 does well with digital or physical sales

Cole usually would do 80-100k in pure sales
Think it's down to 45k with this album
The era of buying albums is just about over

You just answered your own question. Drake did 223K with a loosie mixtape of demos and leaks. Cole will probably do less than 290K with his highly anticipated 6th studio album. How are you trying to turn this into a way to drag Drake when I wasn't even dragging Cole? All that shows is how stupid people were to drag DLDT's numbers when most niggas will struggle to even surpass those numbers.
Drake dropped that tape in the middle of the pandemic and announced the project 6 hours before it dropped. Eminem dropped before the pandemic and will always do enough numbers whenever he announces an album.

This album had no physical copies at release and KOD sold 175,000 physical first week

HDD has him doing about 35K pure sales.

Yea Cole pure sales are usually high
Didn't realize there's no physicals at all though so that's probably another reason

Were just put up in limited supply on his merchandise site yesterday
KOD sold 175K PURE SALES, not physical copies. Was KOD available to buy in stores the week it dropped? If the answer is no, then it had no physicals. Just pure digital sales.

"highly anticipated 6th studio album. "
Off Season is a mixtape. Fall off is the highly anticipated project. Regardless, both artists are highly anticipated but you trying to avoid drake's sales just shows your bias and unwillingness to admit some things about the era.
You just tried to drag cole with your last post lmao stop it.
Drake is the face of music right now. Eminem is no longer the face of music. No matter what, Eminem shouldnt be doing better fw numbers.

KOD did like 175k pure and that didnt have much promo at all. But yeah, you right about the era of albums being over.
Cole gonna be the first rapper who's first 6 albums went #1
Find other semantics to b**** about

KOD was available 1st week physicals

Stupid post.
First off, The Off-Season is J. Cole's 6th studio album. He has never referred to it as a mixtape or anything other than an album so I don't get where you're bringing up it being a mixtape from.
No one tried to drag Cole. I actually said "this is the range the biggest artists will do now because pure sales are dead." How is that me dragging him? I just pointed out how people are now using "the album doesn't have any radio singles!" because for the first time since 2013, he's about to do less than 300K first week when on his last 3 albums that did better and also didn't have any radio smash singles, no one brought up that fact.
No one is undermining DLDT's numbers. It was VERY successful for a throwaway mixtape but people wanted to Drake drag simply because it didn't debut at #1. Now, the biggest rappers are dropping albums and aren't doing that much better than a surprise demo tape Drake dropped and niggas are jumping through hoops looking for excuses. All I'm doing is pointing out the hypocrisy.
I don't get your point with Eminem. He has always and will always do numbers. Using his surprise ALBUM, released before the pandemic hit, to drag Drake who releases a demo tape during the pandemic and only did 56K units less is very silly to me, sorry, especially considering that DLDT had sold just as much as MTBMB before Eminem releases a deluxe and got a huge boost.
