The Climb Back still goes so hard
If it wasn't released last year it would be most people's favorite off the album
Lmaoo you don’t have to make music for a living to hear that those two songs sound similar
talk about elitist mentality
I never said you did lol obviously that would be crazy
Only reason I brought that up is bc the “trying to hard” comment lmao
I don’t have to try hard to hear all of those elements is what I’m saying
But if you think they sound similar that’s fine whatever floats your boat ijs what specific element of the music sounds the same tho? Bc if we a***yze the songs from that perspective I just don’t see it lmao
Does 100 mil remind of Middle Child for y'all
The beat is little similar but I dig it much more. Middle Child's rapping wasn't bad but the melody and hook was annoying
cole uses the same flow in middle child in 100 mil
listen to 100 mil from the line that he states “ The moves that I made, the people I fed, the evil I ducked”
and then listen to the beginning of middle child lol
Right s*** plays so smooth from front to back
FHD still has his most icon songs to date (Jan 28, Wet Dreamz, Fire Squad, St Tropez, No Role Modelz, Apparently, Love Yourz) Those songs are like the essence of Cole so I get why that album is held in such high regard. But as a body of work from start to finish FHD is flawed. It’s top heavy with the majority of the most exciting moments on the first half. After St Tropez it’s super slow and tough to get through. Also “Hello” and “GOMD” aren’t BAD necessarily but the aren’t that great either and they both have cringe moments.
I still regard FHD as a classic bc of the impact and the iconic records but The Off Season is a superior body of work and his best so far imo
Couldn’t have said it better. Off season easily his most enjoyable project to listen to beginning and end. Even the mixtapes have flaws despite being iconic

^^ what that poster above said, and like I said the outro directly interpolates the melody of the chorus from Middle Child.
And I misconstrued that comment so my b for jumping on you like that

You good bro I can see how what I said could b misconstrued but yeah which part y’all talking bout? The badaba badaba part or the “triple beam jumping/made it out it gotta mean something” flow?
If ya’ll are talking about the flow they are both double time flows which Cole has been using a lot in recent years so idk why this song is specifically giving y’all middle child vibes
Like I said the cadence and timing/pattern is mad diff but to each his own g

Close, Punching the Clock and Let Go My Hand are my favorites.
This is very good though and it only gets better with more listens.
Light work
Sure if it was coloured, gatefold or signed, but for a standard black pressing that's daylight robbery

I'm sure we've seen worst
Yeah I’m gonna wait till that s***s in my local record store. Maybe it’ll cost the same but at least I’ll feel better about that purchase lol
